Esports Betting Tips: Monday, April 25th
Tricked Esports vs ONYX
Pinnacle Cup IV Play-In
Tricked Esports and ONYX have never met before, which should result in an interesting match between two teams who don’t know each other’s strengths and weaknesses. But perhaps this situation will favour ONYX better, largely because they have plenty of film on Tricked. Still, you have to agree with PickleBet, which has Tricked Esports priced as 1.62 favourites.
Tricked look like a much better team on paper, and the CS:GO odds show that, but it’s hard to say whether they’re really that much better than the Hungarian squad. That question is difficult to answer, especially if we consider that Tricked have not achieved anything noteworthy in 2022.
Their only notable accomplishment was reaching the semi-finals of Pinnacle Cup III in March, but we haven’t seen much from Tricked since. On a more positive note, Tricked have been picking up games here and there (5-5), so things could be much worse.
Like Tricked, ONYX have not won a single tournament in 2022, but they have had a few standout performances. They forced close series against Eternal Fire last month, and have been overall doing well against team of similar calibre than Tricked.
I expect Tricked to win this match more times than not, but they have not convinced me with their recent performances, so I am leaning towards ONYX at 2.15.
Team Finest vs 777 Esports
Pinnacle Cup IV Play-In
Team Finest and 777 Esports are the two strongest teams in their bracket, and whichever comes out ahead here should be set to lock in a spot in the main event of Pinnacle Cup IV. The last time these two teams met was in January, when Finest won with 16-14 and 19-17, avenging their defeat from December, when 777 came out on top with 16-19, 16-8, 16-12.
For this match, PickleBet has Finest as the favourites (1.68), and I can’t complain about that. I’m not saying that Finest are very good, but they do seem to have more talent on the roster, namely Guy “anarkez” Trachtman, who is in great form.
But I would be careful calling Team Finest the better team, seeing how they have managed just three wins over the last nine games, against WinX (16-13), Coalesce (19-16), and Trident (16-13). What’s more, Finest lost against Tricked (1-2), 1win (0-2), Wisla Krakow (1-2), Turlow (13-16), and even Apeks (7-16).
777 Esports have not been phenomenal, but they are winning games and are 6-1 ahead of this match. Although most of those wins came against academy teams or tier-3 squads, 777 are at least winning the games they should. Sadly, we can’t say the same for Finest.
With the form Finest have been showing, this should be a very close match, and even though I would prefer to be on the side of 777 Esports, over 26.5 rounds makes more sense. No matter which team comes out on top, it won’t be a complete blowout.
Case Esports vs Savage
Pinnacle Cup IV Play-In
Savage needs to start winning games soon, or there really is no reason for this project to continue. They’re now on a streak of one win and 13 losses, which goes way back to PGL Major Antwerp 2022: European RMR - Open Qualifier #3, where Savage lost against 1shot.
Over the last month and a half, Savage have not produced a single good performance, and the closest they’ve come to winning a game was against Nexus (16-19). And if that’s not enough, Savage have played just three games in April, which included an 11-16 defeat against Iron Branch.
Case Esports have recently ended a rough patch, which saw them win just one of five games, but three of those defeats came during PGL Major Antwerp 2022: American RMR, where Case faced Imperial, Party Astronauts, and paiN Gaming.
Before that, Case were dominating some lesser Brazilian tournaments and have been fairly impressive for their standards. I’m not trying to say that Case will ever be a top-tier team, but in comparison to Savage, they’re in a perfect spot.
Savage seem to have already mentally boomed, and they gave me nothing that would make me trust in them. Case Esports should win and are a good bet at 1.90!
