The FedExCup Playoffs roll into their second week as the top 50 players in the standings head to Bellerive Country Club for the BMW Championship. After Scottie Scheffler delivered another dominant performance to win the FedEx St. Jude Championship by eight shots, the pressure ramps up considerably with only the top 30 advancing to next week's TOUR Championship at East Lake.
Bellerive hosts the BMW Championship for the first time since 2008 and brings a very different challenge to what players faced at TPC Southwind. Scheffler arrives with a commanding lead in the FedExCup standings, but there is plenty still to be decided behind him, particularly around the top-30 bubble as players fight to keep their seasons alive.

BMW Championship Betting Preview
Bellerive Country Club, Thursday 20 - Sunday 23 August
The Field
Scheffler is unsurprisingly the headline act after producing another statement victory in Memphis. The world No. 1 now owns two victories this season and leads the FedExCup standings by almost 1,400 points. He is also the defending BMW Championship winner and will attempt to become the first player since Patrick Cantlay in 2021-22 to successfully defend the title.
Si Woo Kim was the closest challenger to Scheffler at TPC Southwind and continues what has been a remarkable season despite remaining without a victory. Kim now has 11 top-10 finishes, including three runner-up results, and sits fourth in the FedExCup standings. Rory McIlroy will be hoping for a considerably better week after finishing 66th in Memphis, while Matt Fitzpatrick, Cameron Young, Wyndham Clark, Sam Burns and Tommy Fleetwood are all firmly positioned for a run at the FedExCup.
The other major storyline is the battle around the top-30 bubble. Rickie Fowler currently occupies the final qualifying position, sitting only two points ahead of Gary Woodland, while Bud Cauley and Kurt Kitayama are also separated by just a single point. Sungjae Im was the only player to jump inside the top 50 last week after his T5 in Memphis, providing a reminder of just how quickly the standings can change during the Playoffs.
The Course
Bellerive Country Club returns to the PGA TOUR spotlight, playing as a par 70 across a demanding 7,448 yards. The Robert Trent Jones design last hosted the BMW Championship in 2008 and is perhaps better known for the 2018 PGA Championship, where Brooks Koepka held off Tiger Woods to claim the title.
This is very much a big ballpark, with its length and sizeable green complexes placing a premium on powerful, accurate ball-striking. The course's most notable section comes late in the round with "The Ridge" across holes 14-16. The stretch includes the infinity green at the par-4 14th, the difficult 15th and a par-3 16th that can stretch beyond 237 yards.
Bellerive's scoring records suggest opportunities will still be available for players who are striking it well. Jim Furyk shot an 8-under 62 during the 2008 BMW Championship, while Koepka's 16-under total at the 2018 PGA Championship stands as the 72-hole record. With no cut this week, players around the FedExCup bubble will have four rounds to attack and attempt to book their ticket to East Lake.
BMW Championship Best Bets
Si Woo Kim
A victory remains the only thing missing from an outstanding 2026 season for Kim. He finished runner-up at TPC Southwind to add another near miss to a campaign featuring three seconds and two thirds among 11 top-10 finishes. Kim also leads the PGA TOUR with 60 rounds under par and 49 sub-70 rounds, and his combination of elite ball-striking and relentless consistency makes him a major threat to finally turn one of those close calls into a win.
Wyndham Clark
Clark returned to form at exactly the right time with a T5 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, where he led the field in putts per green in regulation. The 2026 U.S. Open champion has already shown how dangerous he can be when the putter heats up, and Bellerive should suit his combination of power and scoring ability. With sizeable targets awaiting in St. Louis, Clark should generate plenty of opportunities to continue his push towards East Lake.
BMW Championship Value Bets
Alex Noren
Noren has quietly transformed himself into a genuine TOUR Championship contender with an excellent late-season surge. The Swede has followed a T18 with a T7 and T3 across his past three starts, climbing to 34th in the FedExCup standings and putting himself within striking distance of the top 30. His controlled ball-striking and ability to limit mistakes should translate nicely to a demanding Bellerive setup.
Justin Rose
Rose needed something on Sunday in Memphis and delivered it, firing a final-round 64 to climb back to even par and finish T39. It was an important recovery for his hopes of remaining inside the top 30 and extending his season to East Lake. The veteran also has some positive history at Bellerive, finishing T6 at the 2018 PGA Championship, and his combination of experience, iron play and recent winning form makes him an appealing value option this week.
