While the 2016 Victoria Derby is the focus for most punters this weekend, there's another meet on in Sydney with a nine-race card at Rosehill. We have Rosehill betting tips for every race this Saturday, October 29th, as well as our best bet and best value bet!
The track is a Good 4 with the rail in the True position but there is expected to be some showers so we may see the track end up in the Soft range at some point.
Race 1 - Lidoran Group Pierro Plate 1100m
Giving LIGHTZ another go here after he blew the start on debut and still finished 3rd behind Luiza and Showtime. From barrier 4 he should get his chance to win if he starts cleanly. Best value looks to be CHAMPAGE CUDDLES following a nice trial win.

Race 2 - West Tradies CFMEU Handicap 1200m
Prepared to give this Brisbane horse IL RICCIO a chance in this field after an absolute demolition job on debut.Won his trial by 8.5 lengths and then won by 10 lengths at Ipswich. He can back that up again here from barrier 5 with Jim Byrne essentially coming to Rosehill for this ride.

Race 3 - AMWU Handicap 1500m
MOHER strikes a very winnable race here third up from a spell. He ran a good race behind Invinzabeel last start, which is a horse I think is very progressive. Gets in well at the weights after the claim and looks well placed in this.

Race 4 - TAB Highway Handicap 1300m
Two I like the look of here. DON'T DOUBT HER broke her maiden last start when first up from a spell and although the margin was only half a length, she ran down the leader quite well. With the claim here she gets in with just 51kg and looks a great price at $6.
The other is DRAMATICO who has won back-to-back races at Nowra very convincingly. He'll sit off the speed from barrier 12 and is capable of unleashing. Looks a decent each way bet at $14.

Race 5 - CFMEU Mining Handicap 1350m
ROYAL TUDOR should be hard to beat here with a good record at this track and distance but I'll give MAGICUS one more chance to get a win in Sydney. He was held up the entire straight last start and had plenty to offer so at $8 he looks a bit of value in the race.

Race 6 - Vincents Country Classic 2000m
Two that interest me here. Going with FILTERO who is ready to step up to the 2000m after a good run in the Highway Hcp at Randwick last start. Draws well, down in weight and up to 2000m which is a distance he's won at. Opened longer but even at $7 he looks worth a bet.
MYSTICISM is the other to consider but his barrier is the big negative. Ran 4th in the same race as Filtero last start and that was only his first run back from a spell so he should strip fitter for this and drops to 53.5kg. Despite the barrier he has Avdulla on board and I'll have something on him at $6.

Race 7 - Blacktown Workers Handicap 1800m
Really difficult race. TOWER OF SONG has been very well backed early but I'm sticking with NEW TIPPERARY here who looks progressive and took every bit of the straight to win last start. The step up in trip should suit and Avdulla sticks with him so that's good enough for me.
We were on VASSAL last start and he went horribly, perhaps due to the soft track. Two starts ago he ran 3rd behind Tower Of Song and gets a decent pull in the weights here so on the one week back up he could bounce back.

Race 8 - Bradford Soundscreen Handicap 1200m
Plenty of chances in this.
IN THE VANGUARD ran at Caulfield first up and just peaked on her run.Back to Sydney, down to 51.5kg suits and can bounce back here if she brings her best.
RILLITO holds claims after two big runs under big weights recently; CANA drops significantly in grade and draws well; LEAMI ASTRAY is racing very consistently and DIXIE CHICK never saw daylight last start so the race isn't short of chances!
Tip: IN THE VANGUARD
Race 9 - Viridian Lightbridge Handicap 1100m
Forgiving UPSCALE for last start and going off her previous win over Super Maxi at Warwick Farm. Draws an ideal gate here so should get the run of the race and the booking of Brenton Avdulla is eye-catching. Looks one of the best bets on the card.
