2026 NBA Finals Game 2 Betting Tips
New York Knicks at San Antonio Spurs (Saturday 10:30am AEST)
Game 1 of the NBA Finals lived up to the hype as we had a game of runs from both teams. The hosting San Antonio Spurs held a 14-point lead during the third quarter, before the rampaging New York Knicks stormed back into the game as Jalen Brunson willed them home down the stretch to win 105-95. Despite a poor 12-31 shooting night, Brunson’s fourth-quarter heroics, including a clutch three late in the game, sealed it for the Knicks. All the starters played well, and it was impressive seeing Karl-Anthony Towns defending Victor Wembanyama, as well as driving past him on multiple occasions to score.
Wembanyama had a poor first game despite finishing with 26 points, 12 of those came at the charity stripe, as he finished 6-21 from the field. He wasn’t the defensive beast we have grown accustomed to in this matchup either as the Knicks outscored the Spurs 50-42 in the paint. De’Aaron Fox needs to step up after just seven points in Game 1 on 3-13 shooting. Rookie Dylan Harper was on fire for the Spurs, scoring 16 points and grabbing eight rebounds, but head coach Mitch Johnson kept him on the bench for most of the fourth quarter.
The Knicks have won 12 straight games in the postseason, a historic run, including 11 of them by double digits. When they are winning, they are blowing their opposition out of the water. With Brunson leading the charge, supported by Towns, OG Anunoby, Josh Hart, Mikal Bridges and Landry Shamet, the Knicks appeal as +6-point underdogs. This is one of the most dominant stretches of postseason basketball we have witnessed and they are three wins away from cementing themselves into history with a coveted NBA championship.
