NBA Playoffs Betting Tips: Wednesday, April 29th 2026
Philadelphia 76ers at Boston Celtics (9:00am AEST)
The Celtics return home with a commanding 3–1 series lead after a dominant 128–96 victory in Game 4. Boston’s depth has been the story of the series; in the last outing, Payton Pritchard exploded for 32 points off the bench, while Jayson Tatum neared a triple-double with 30 points, 11 assists, and 7 rebounds. For Philadelphia, Joel Embiid returned but battled through double-teams (26 points, 10 rebounds in Game 4), but the lack of consistent support from the wing remains a glaring issue. While Tyrese Maxey provides sparks of brilliance, the 76ers’ defence has looked completely unable to track Boston's perimeter movement. Expect the Celtics to look for the gentleman's sweep with a comfoertable win at home.
Celtics –12.5

Atlanta Hawks at New York Knicks (10:00am AEST)
This series has shifted back to New York tied at 2–2 after the Knicks flexed their muscle in a 114–98 Game 4 win in Atlanta. Karl-Anthony Towns was instrumental, recording a 20-point, 10-rebound, 10-assist triple-double, while OG Anunoby’s defensive masterclass on Jalen Johnson limited the Hawks' transition game. Atlanta’s backcourt of CJ McCollum and Dyson Daniels has struggled with the Knicks’ physicality at the point of attack at times, although the former continues to put up solid numbers. With the series returning to the Garden, the Knicks energy and New York's superior rebounding (led by Mitchell Robinson’s 5 offensive boards in the last game) should prove too much for the Hawks to handle in a pivotal Game 5.
Knicks –6.5

Portland Trail Blazers at San Antonio Spurs (11:30am AEST)
The Spurs are one win away from the second round after a historic second-half comeback in Game 4 to take a 3–1 series lead. Portland led by as much as 19 points before Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox combined for 55 points to orchestrate a 114–93 blowout. The Blazers are reeling from their inability to protect leads, largely due to their league-worst turnover rate catching up to them in high-pressure moments. San Antonio's defensive length, anchored by Wembanyama's rim protection, has completely neutralised the Blazers in pivotal moments. Facing elimination in Texas, Portland lacks the defensive discipline to stop a Spurs team that has found its rhythm.
Spurs –9.5
