Bulldogs vs Knights Predictions & Tips: NRL Round 4 2026
Time to improve upon their attack
The Bulldogs were gritty and determined last week to overcome the Raiders on the road 14-10. It mirrored their effort in Round 1 against the Dragons. Their shortcomings thus far still revolve around scoring points. They put themselves in a strong position by completing at 91% - in horrible conditions – and having 52% possession. They also average 8.9m per carry and made more line breaks and PCM’s. They were not rewarded with points through and it is an issue which must be addressed moving forward. Their defence was strong and that has become a feature of their play; despite missing 51 tackles, the allowed just 3 line breaks.
Consistency needs to improve
There were positive signs early for the Knights as they started strongly against the Warriors. Unfortunately, that was short-lived as they eventually lost 38-12 at home. While injuries hurt their cause, they need look no further than their own shortcomings. They completed at just 63% with 44% possession, allowed 599 PCM’s, conceded 7 line breaks, and missed 36 tackles. Old habits die hard, and these are like what was produced last season. Perhaps the omission of key players will lift other players in their absence to fill the void. As a unit, it must be a collective approach for them to turn around the results.
Stats that matter
- Large, blowout victories have become normal between these two sides recently. The average margin of victory is 35.2 points in the past 5 matches, with the lowest total being 20-points in the last match they played. Interestingly, the total points is low, at an average of 43.2 points scored in the same time period.
- The Bulldogs have struggle recently to score points. They have averaged just 14ppg in their two matches but back it up with strong defence, allowing just 12ppg. The Knights are far worse, scoring 25ppg in attack but conceding 24ppg defensively.
- The Bulldogs will be hoping that their home ground advantage provides an edge. They have won 54% of matches here compared with the Knights (respectable) 48%.
The Bulldogs game to lose
There is minimal doubt that the Bulldogs are the stronger team ahead of this match. The Knights are scrambling to cover the losses of key players but receive a boost ahead of this game with Sharpe returning at 5/8. More is needed though for them to overturn the impending result of this contest. This game is a great opportunity for the Bulldogs to rediscover their spark in attack. Their inability to score points in the past has limited their progress; while tough early, the Knights should offer more opportunities in attack for them to expose their opponents’ shortcomings. The positive signs have been present; it is about build on those moments for the home team. They had several opportunities last week against the Raiders. Their defence will ensure that it is tough for the visitors to score points, while also opening a comfortable margin of victory to the home side.

Bulldogs vs Knights Same Game Multi
Leg 1 = Bulldogs 13+ - see above for justification of this. For further context, the Bulldogs may not had scored many points this season, but their defence will make it hard for their opponents to score points.
Leg 2 = Best to score – it’s unlikely that the Knights will score many tries but if they do, Best is most likely to feature. He has scored 6 tries from his past 5 matches against the Bulldogs and 4 tries from his past 5 visits to this venue.
Leg 3 = Preston to score – he loves playing at this venue, scoring 4 tries from his past 3 matches. Starting season 2026 in terrific form, Preston is more than ball-running threat for his team.
