Autumn Glow will look to remain unbeaten at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday when she tackles the Group 2 Theo Marks Stakes. In addition, the Run To The Rose will paint a clearer picture for emerging Golden Rose Stakes contenders. Weather is expected to be sunny and 21 degrees with the track currently rated a Heavy 8, and the rail will be out six metres for the entire circuit.

Rosehill Racing Tips: Saturday, September 13th 2025
Race 1: Midway Handicap (1200m) – 11:50am (AEST)
(6) Modella returns to the races for the first time since a fifth placing in the Group 3 Hawkesbury Guineas (1400m) back in May. The four-year-old mare has had a pair of barrier trials in preparation for this assignment. She draws widest and will be back in the run but expect her to sprout wings as her sectionals last prep were excellent.
(3) Zouripper is a last start winner for trainer John Thompson. He should land a nice position from barrier six with Nash Rawiller in the saddle. Three tries at Rosehill have yet to produce a placing, so that could be one small knock on him, but I’d largely ignore it as his win at Warwick Farm was terrific.
(12) Jambalaya will look to jump and run from the inside barrier, and he has been consistent lately, finishing midfield in recent runs. May find a few too good here but should acquit himself well enough.
(6) Modella WIN
$3.80 (2 Units)
Race 2: TAB Highway Handicap (1400m) – 12:25pm (AEST)
(9) Solitario is yet to miss a place in his six career starts with two victories beside his name. Prepared by Paul Messara and Leah Gavranich, the four-year-old gelding was third last time out when beaten less than a length by Unreachable and Nova Centauri. Another good barrier should see Solitario ready to pounce with Nash Rawiller riding.
(14) Nova Centauri comes up with the inside gate which could be interesting. She has won two from six, and if she can find some clear air in traffic, she is going to be very dangerous in the home straight.
(4) Pony Soprano will look to put past Rosehill anguish behind him – he fell last time he raced here with both horse and jockey okay. Since then, he was a dominant winner at $1.50 at Port Macquarie and looks ready to race in town.
(9) Solitario WIN
$4.20 (1 Unit)
Race 3: Petaluma Handicap (2400m) – 1:00pm (AEST)
(4) Tazima is the race favourite for the combination of Chris Waller and Adam Hyeronimus. Two starts ago he won over 1800m at Kensington before finishing third as a $2.20 favourite at Rosehill over 2000m. Stepping out to the 2400m looks suitable and looks hardest to beat in an interesting staying race.
(2) Cormac T was runner up over the distance last time out at Randwick and will have a head start on Tazima in the run. It has been a long preparation for the six-year-old gelding however, the track conditions and distance are in his favour. Should run well.
(1) Juja Kibo strung together back-to-back wins prior to a sixth placing in the same race that Cormac T contested. The effort was full of merit still and the gelding can threaten in this line up.
(4) Tazima WIN
$2.00 (2 Units)
Race 4: TAB Handicap (1800m) – 1:35pm (AEST)
(6) Glad You Think So has winning form with a pair of victories for trainer John Sargent. The latest was over the mile at Randwick, narrowly defeating Narbold. The son of So You Think should map very favourably in this race and there’s no reason he can’t make it a hat-trick as he’s won over 1800m before.
(11) Seven’s looks a huge danger with two runs into this campaign producing a first-up win and then a fourth placing over 1500m last start. Step up in distance will be no concern for the five-year-old gelding and he looks primed for a big race.
(10) The Years is deep into his preparation for trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott. He won back-to-back races prior to a sixth placing over 1800m when carrying 62kg. He might not know himself carrying 53kg on his back and a middle gate will allow him to race right on the speed or even leading them up.
(6) Glad You Think So WIN
$5.00 (1 Unit)
Race 5: Asahi Super Dry Handicap (1100m) – 2:15pm (AEST)
(2) Fire Star won four straight races in 2024 before being turned out for a spell. He raced four times for one placing during the autumn and then headed to the paddock. The Peter Snowden-trained gelding has won two trials heading into his first up assignment, and he has either won or been runner up in three of four fresh runs. Definitely appeals at double figures in this race.
(5) Kerguelen is racing in top form for Godolphin and Joe Pride, including a victory at Randwick over 1200m. Draws an inside gate in two and should be handy in the run. Expect him to prove the hardest to beat in the race.
(9) Catch The Glory carries just 55kg this time around and the mare comes off a last start win over course and distance. She should run another good race.
(2) Fire Star E/W
$11/$3.20 (1 Unit)
Race 6: Chandon Ming Dynasty Quality (1400m) – 2:50pm (AEST)
(2) Grand Prairie has had four runs this time in for a pair of wins and seconds. Peter Snowden’s three-year-old colt was runner up to Skyhook in the Listed Rosebud (1100m) before capturing the Group 3 Up And Coming Stakes (1300m). Kerrin McEvoy picks up the ride and Grand Prairie looks incredible value in the race.
(1) Autumn Boy has won both career starts for Chris Waller and looks set to tackle this Group 3 feature. At just his second start, he won the Listed Tattersall’s Stakes (1400m) at Eagle Farm. Has drawn well in four and looks the obvious horse to beat.
(8) Flying Orchid is also unbeaten from two races and jumps sharply in grade off the back of a three-length romp in a Benchmark 64 Handicap (1350m). Prefer to see him in this grade first.
(2) Grand Prairie WIN
$7.00 (1 Unit)
Race 7: Irresistible Pools Sheraco Stakes (1200m) – 3:25pm (AEST)
(2) Joliestar returns to the races after her victory in the Group 1 Kingsford-Smith Cup (1300m) in June. This Group 2 is not her main target so expect her to sit back and come with a run. Couldn’t take the $2.50 on offer despite deserving top billing.
(8) Gangsta Granny has excellent form behind Autumn Glow in the Listed Darby Munro Stakes (1200m) and Group 3 Toy Show Quality (1100m). Very similar price to Joliestar and it is hard to split the pair given the speed map: a case of class vs map. Prefer to watch this contest.
TIP: No Bet
Race 8: Yulong Run To The Rose (1200m) – 4:00pm (AEST)
(9) Tempted is a three-year-old filly for trainer Ciaron Maher and Godolphin. She is a winner of three races from six starts, including the Reisling Stakes (1200m) and Percy Sykes Stakes (1200m) at Group 2 level. Splitting those runs was a third in the Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m). Her class is evident and after a recent trial, she should be ready for a big fresh run.
(1) Nepotism is a three-year-old colt with two wins and a third from his three career starts. Prepared by Team Hawkes, he has won on both a Soft and Heavy track which is a huge plus for this. At the price, he is worth a small bet also.
(10) Wodeton was runner up in the Golden Slipper and he started this campaign with the same result when chasing home Raging Force who is favourite for this contest, and also a winning chance again in a very open affair.
Also Backing: (1) Nepotism WIN $11 (1 Unit)
(9) Tempted WIN
$6.10 (1 Unit)
Race 9: Toyota Forklifts Theo Marks Stakes (1300m) – 4:40pm (AEST)
(5) Autumn Glow looks to preserve her unblemished record of five wins in this Group 2 feature. She captured the Group 3 Toy Show Quality (1100m) from a game Gangsta Granny. She is currently a $1.45 favourite and can’t take that price, but not keen to go against her.
(2) Pier is resuming off the back of a second in a barrier trial. Winning the Listed Wayne Wilson (1600m) in June, the six-year-old gelding should run well and the Kiwi raider would love to bring an end to Autumn Glow’s winning run.
TIP: No Bet
Race 10: Rosehill Bowling Club Handicap (1500m) – 5:15pm (AEST)
(5) Captain Furai has not been kind to punters this prep, failing to win from three attempts at odds of $4 or less. There should be no excuses from this barrier on Saturday with Nash Rawiller in the saddle. Expect him to race in the forward half of the field and can prove hard to hold out late.
(6) Narbold is his stablemate and has finished in the top two at his three most recent runs, including a win two starts back. Track conditions will not bother the four-year-old gelding, and he should be in the thick of things late.
(11) Anythink Goes has found one better at his last two runs, but he did beat home Captain Furai last start. Draws wider, although has options from the draw and may press forward.
(5) Captain Furai WIN
$3.60 (2 Units)
