We’ve got a good day of racing all around the country today with some strong meetings at Caulfield, Randwick and Doomben to get stuck into.
Billy Bestford has done the form throughout the meetings and has highlighted his best bets to help you find a few winners across the day.
Horse Racing Tips: Saturday, July 10th
Caulfield Race 1
Keen to get the cash early today and (2) Zapateo looks a very promising type to kick start our day on the punt. Couldn’t have been more impressive on debut after drawing wide he was taken back and rounded them up in the straight in a matter of strides. The clock backed up the performance, reeling off the 3rd fastest last 400 of the entire meeting and pretty happy to see Oli sticking for the ride again today. Should only improve having 2nd career start now and looks hard to beat.
Randwick Race 3
(19) Cavalier Charles was enormous when finishing 2nd last start over 1200m. He drew the carpark there and with any luck he would have won. Ran one of the quickest last 600m of a very strong Rosehill meeting and now maps for a perfect run in transit with Jmac to stick for the ride. Handles all conditions and still a heap of upside to come with this horse. Stable is flying and has a knack for producing winners in these Saturday Highways.
(19) Cavalier Charles
Randwick Race 5
Ghee it’s hard to see (3) Harpo Marx not winning today and the punters agree, having been smashed in early betting. He’s now 3rd up, out to 2000m on a quick backup after a big finish over 1800m last week. Ran the fastest last 200m of the whole meeting there and with even luck, will be winning. Hoping Rachel King can find a back to follow and present with a heap of horse underneath her.
Caulfield Race 4
Pretty keen to have something on (13) Belsielle each-way here. Couldn’t miss her last start when flying home after missing the kick to just miss over 1000m on a heavy track at Moe. Should have won there and now looks perfectly set up out to 1100m 3rd up. That performance followed an easy maiden win and looks to have come back in great order. At double figures she looks a great bet and has already been smashed since betting opened.
(13) Belsielle E/W
Randwick Race 8
(6) Rubisaki looks hard to beat back to her beloved Sydney where she is 3/3 when running here. Loves the 1400m and this field is probably no harder than what she’s been running well in. Back to back 2nds at Flemington, the latest behind the smart Dice Roll holds her in good stead to run well again here. Handles all conditions but the rain around will be no harm to her chances and if he is ever going to win another race, looks very suitably placed in this one.
Caulfield Race 8
The G3 Sir John Monash Stakes is the feature race of the day and it looks a strong field. Happy to back (12) Villami who grows another leg when fresh and maps for all the favours today. Malkovich is the early fav and I am happy to be against him here as he steps into this sort of grade for the first time. Villami has trialled very impressively in the lead up to this and a drying Caulfield track is going to be a big positive for him.
