Cloud9 vs forZe
Paris Major – EU RMR B
The European RMR B will begin with a match featuring two Russian squads, Cloud9 and forZe, who last met on Tuesday, April 4, in the finals of BetBoom Playlist. Urbanistic-. Cloud9 won the series (2-0) convincingly, allowing forZe to collect just 17 rounds across the two maps (16-10, 16-7).
After their commanding victory against forZe less than a week ago, Cloud9 are expected to collect another win on Tuesday, and it’s not too crazy to believe that they can do it. This is a BO1 match, so we have to be careful not to underestimate the outsiders, but there’s more to Cloud9 being priced as the favourites than just their H2H victory from last week.
Cloud9 are in great form ahead of RMR B. They won BLAST Premier: Spring European Showdown 2023 at the start of April and then finished second in Intel Extreme Masters Dallas 2023: European Qualifiers. Besides that, they also finished runner-up at ESL Pro League Season 17 at the end of March, which is seriously impressive.
ForZe have not won a single event in 2023, and even though they performed well at ESL Pro League S17, where they reached the quarterfinals, their only significant victory of that tournament came against Natus Vincere (2-1).
ForZe are a good team, and I wouldn’t be shocked if they qualify for the Major. But I don’t expect them to defeat Cloud9, who already proved to be the better team last week.

Heroic vs 500
Paris Major – EU RMR B
Heroic are currently ranked as the third-best CS:GO team in the world, behind only FaZe Clan and G2 Esports. That sounds right, considering that the Danes have achieved since the start of the year.
Even though Heroic haven’t won a single tournament since BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2022 in November, they reached the finals of IEM Katowice 2023 and reached the quarterfinals at ESL Pro League S17, where they lost against NaVi (0-2). Obviously, there’s room for improvement, but Heroic are 7-2 since February, which includes wins against OG, Team Vitality, Natus Vincere, MOUZ, and BIG-.
500 are far from being ranked inside the top-5 in the global rankings, and it’s fair to say that this lineup never will reach those heights. The Bulgarians have been very active this year, attending 21 tournaments since January, yet out of 21, they’ve won just two – the RMR Qualifier Decider and European Development Championship Season 7.
Even their record isn’t that promising, seeing how 500 have struggled against much weaker teams than Heroic, including ECSTATIC (0-2), GODSENT (13-16), and Partizan Esports (1-2). The only thing going for 500 is that this is a BO1 match, but even with that in mind, it’s very difficult to consider betting on 500.
Heroic are known to flop when least expected, but very rarely against weaker teams. I like Heroic to keep 500 at 10 or less rounds.

Team Vitality vs Astralis
Paris Major – EU RMR B
Possibly the most exciting match of the opening round of RMR B will see Team Vitality face off against Astralis as two teams look to establish their dominance. Vitality and Astralis are two very interesting teams, mainly because they field strong rosters but fail to achieve much.
Team Vitality have been more successful than Astralis in 2023 since they won BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2023 and made the quarterfinals in ESL Pro League S17 and IEM Katowice. But they’ve never really shown anything spectacular, so it’s hard to praise them too much.
Astralis deserve even less praise for their performances this year. Besides winning CCT North Europe Series #3 in February, Astralis didn’t produce much and were particularly disappointing at ESL Pro League Season 17 (17th-20th). However, they found momentum in March.
Astralis are 8-0 since their early exit from ESL Pro League Season 17. Most of those wins came against weaker teams; however, that doesn’t take away from how dominant Astralis looked in those fixtures – 16-9 against 777Esports, 16-2 against 358, and 16-6 against 1win. And to top it all off, Astralis also defeated Team Spirit (2-0) and Cloud9 (2-1) at Intel Extreme Masters Dallas 2023: European Qualifier.
I don’t want to overreact to Astralis’ sudden surge in form, but they have been playing better lately and with the talent they have, it’s not crazy to believe that Astralis can defeat Team Vitality.
