Group 1 Racing returns to Victoria for the first time in almost six months with the running of the Memsie Stakes at Caulfield with a star-studded field on display.
Mr. Brightside returns from a spell as does Treasurethemoment, with Cairon Maher’s Another Wil the current favourite. The Group 3 Cockram Stakes is the other main highlight of the day.
On what is meant to be a cold day at Caulfield with a temperature of just 13 degrees, track conditions will have to be monitored on the day. The track is currently rated a Good 4 but 10mls of rain is expected to fall on the track on the day.

Caulfield Racing Tips: Saturday, August 30th 2025 (Memsie Stakes Day)
Race 4: Remembering Mikaela Claridge Handicap - 1:45pm (AEST)
(14) Revelare is a huge chance if the track remains Good or a Soft5. The Rob Hickmott trained gelding has a very good second up record and the extra 400m distance should suit. He won’t be at 100 percent fitness yet but I think he will be strong enough to run on from midfield to score if the track is reasonably dry. He is a winner of 6 from 9 including 2 races over this distance.
(4) Berkeley Square ran well for 4th at The Valley last start and he would be one of the fittest horses in this race. Likes this distance and is capable on any surface.
(1) Middle Earth has won 4 from 9 starts on a Good track so will want a Dry track. First up here and he has a very good first up record having won twice from 3 attempts. Will get back but will be running on.
(14) Revelare E/W
$4.20/$1.80 (1u e/w)
Race 6: Ive McNeil Stakes - 2:55pm (AEST)
(3) Tycoon Star is second up here and was good when 2nd behind Jimmy Recard on resumption at this track. Before that he won 2 jumpouts so that says to me that he is pretty fit despite only have one run in this prep so far. From barrier 8 I think he will come across and settle in about 4th like he did last time. Last prep he was only 6L behind the winner in the Golden Slipper and he should be close to the money in this.
(4) Jimmy Recard got a good break last start when he scored the win with getting the momentum on the rails over the last 100m. Will want a bit of rain and the track to be Soft like it was last start.
(6) McGaw is a big chance if the track is Dry. He has won 2 from 2 on Good tracks and he is 1 from 1 when resuming which he is here.
(3) Tycoon Star E/W
$5.00/$1.75 (1u e/w)
Race 9: Stow Storage Memsie Stakes Group 1 - 4:45pm (AEST)
(6) Another Wil comes back from NSW where he had a campaign where he ran well (6th) beaten less than a length in the Group 1 Doncaster. He has since had two trials where he jogged around at Gosford in preparation for this and he returns to a track which he loves having won 4 races from 6 starts. Over the 1400m he has won 7 times from 9 starts and the other two times he ran 2nd so he loves the distance. Jamie Melham has won 8 times on this guy before and he is already a 4 time Group 1 winner. He is the likely favourite and he does look like he will get a good run from the draw (3).
(11) Treasurethemoment has won 9 from 11 starts and is still just four year old. Is resuming but did jumpout well at Mornington with Damien Lane on. She hasn’t won since winning the Oaks on April 12 and even though she likes it further she has won both race starts over 1400m.
(2) Tom Kitten wants a Good track and then he is in this. He is resuming too and he does go well fresh. Drawn well in barrier 4 and this is his first start for Sam and Anthony Freedman after cumming across from James Cummings. At his last start he was 3rd to champion Via Sistina but only beaten 2.5L.
(6) Another Wil
$4.00 (2 units)
