Randwick Racing Tips: Saturday, July 11th 2026
Race 4 – Cactus Imaging BM72 - 1100m (12:55pm AEST)
(1) Benevac – 3YO Gelding who has been racing in terrific form this preparation without quite getting the reward. He resumed with a strong performance on a heavy track, charging home from the rear to finish a close third, beaten just 1.5 lengths. His following two starts have been equally impressive, finishing runner-up on both occasions and beaten by the narrowest of margins (0.1L each time). He looked to have last start in his keeping before the lightweight LIGHTHOUSE LASS produced a late surge to grab him right on the line. He now strips fitter fourth-up, remains at the ideal 1100m trip and stays in the same grade, giving him another excellent opportunity to break through. The 2kg claim for Grima sees him carry a kilo less than last start, which is another positive. Barrier 2 should allow him to enjoy the perfect run in transit, likely settling just behind SIR LES before peeling out at the top of the straight to launch his finishing burst. The early market support has been encouraging and only adds to the confidence. Everything points towards this being his day. On top
(3) Sir Les – 3YO gelding who was terrific on debut winning by nearly 4L and then buttered up for a nice second up victory in a class 1 before. He then went for a trial and was sound and then tackled a BM72 last start and started as a $2.70 favourite and finished 5th, but only 1.2L off the winner and was met with a heavy deck. Draws well today and maps to lead, so can dictate to his liking and be thereabouts.
(7) Jarrito – 3YO Filly out of the Bjorn Baker stable and has been sound. Won nicely first up at this track and then fought on gamely over 1100m last start at Rosehill finishing only a length off BENEVAC who she meets again here. Chance.
(1) Benevac WIN
$3.30 (3 Units)
Race 6 – Kieran Moore BM78 – 1000m (2:05pm AEST)
(1) Power Of The Brave – 5YO gelding who looks to be a blow out hope here. Got slugged 62.5kg, but with a 3kg claim he gets in with a more respectably weight. He was good last campaign and won a few nice races and finished thereabouts in a few others. Kicks things off over his pet trip and does have a nice first up record. Early market push indicates he is likely to run a nice race.
(2) Luna Cat – 7YO Mare who had been knocking on the door and got the breakthrough win last start in tougher grade and did so convincingly. Drops in grade, but gets compensated with a 2kg claim going on, so only needs to carry 3kg extra off last starts win. Relishing the wet tracks and is competing well enough to be giving this a crack again. Drawn well and will go close.
(3) Petticoat – 4YO Mare who looks ready to peak fourth-up this preparation. Her first-up effort was sound enough and suggested she was in need of the run, while her second-up performance is best overlooked after she was pulled up post-race with a cough in a tougher grade. (Forgive.) She bounced back in style last start when returning to her preferred role, dictating the tempo out in front and only being run down late by the talented ICE KOOL. That effort indicated she has returned to her best and strips fitter again for this task. She remains at the 1000m, drops in nicely with the 3kg claim, has drawn to find the lead with minimal effort and should once again control the race on her terms. Proven in wet conditions and with every chance to give a bold sight from the front, she'll take plenty of catching. Happy to be with her
(3) Petticoat WIN
$4.20 (1.5 Units)
Race 8 – Robrick Lodge Eremein BM78 – 1600m (4:35pm AEST)
(3) Cold Brew – 4YO Gelding who has won 4 of his last 5 outings and continues to be on projecting the right way. He still appears to be immature when racing and can still show some signs of being green which the trainer has suggested will never subside but laid in badly last start when winning and could’ve potentially gone down in a protest but held on. Rises to the mile now and should be capable third up and if things go right he deserves to be favourite. Chance.
(8) Sevens – 5YO gelding who has been good this campaign thus far without winning. Rock hard fit now and gets onto the heavy deck where he is 2 from 2. Early market push has been good. Will likely settle midfield and be peeling out down the straight picking these up. Value bet.
(11) Concordia Wind – 4YO Mare who looks over the odds here. First up run was good, finishing second on the soft track, second up was a forgive run, but still only finished less than a length off the winner after being shuffled rearward. Third up run got the right run over the mile and went bang. Remains at the mile but goes up to BM78 from a BM72. Gets in light with 53.5kg (2kg claim). Will likely settle midfield and again will be running on. Proven on the wet. Each way.
(11) Concordia Wind E/W
$9.00/$2.70 (1U/2U)
