North Melbourne vs St Kilda Prediction & Betting Tips: AFL 2026 Round 20
Saints Ready to Respond
St Kilda was well below its best early against Geelong last week, allowing the Cats to take control before eventually falling by 27 points. While the Saints matched Geelong around the contest, they struggled to generate quality scoring opportunities from midfield chains, an area Ross Lyon will no doubt have addressed during the week.
There are plenty of positives heading into this matchup. Rowan Marshall produced one of the best games of his career with 33 disposals, 30 hitouts, 12 clearances and two goals, while Hugo Garcia continued his outstanding midfield form with another 31 disposals. The Saints also receive a major boost with Max King named for his long-awaited return alongside the returning Tom De Koning and Hugh Boxshall. Back at Marvel Stadium, where they've won six of their past eight matches, St Kilda looks well placed to bounce back.
Kangaroos Continue to Fight
North Melbourne continues to trend in the right direction despite the results not always reflecting its improvement. The Kangaroos have now seen each of their past six matches decided by 25 points or fewer, pushing quality opposition all the way before falling short late.
Nick Larkey remains the focal point in attack, while Colby McKercher and Harry Sheezel continue to drive the side with their run and ball use. The concern for North remains its polish going inside 50, with too many promising forward-half opportunities breaking down through poor execution. Against a St Kilda side that thrives on intercepting and launching from turnovers, those mistakes could prove costly.
North Melbourne vs St Kilda Betting Prediction and Best Bet
North Melbourne will scrap for every point and should make this another close contest, but St Kilda has consistently shown it knows how to beat the teams around and below it on the ladder. The Saints have won the past six meetings between these sides and have the experience to handle the key moments.
Expect a much stronger pressure performance from Ross Lyon's side after last week's slow start against Geelong. With Marshall/TDK likely to give the Saints first use around stoppages and their intercept game matching up perfectly against North's occasional ball-use issues, St Kilda should gradually take control and grind out another important victory.

North Melbourne vs St Kilda Prop Bet
Jack Higgins continues to be one of St Kilda's most reliable scoring threats and looks well placed to hit the scoreboard again. With Max King's return likely to draw attention from North's key defenders, Higgins should find plenty of space at ground level and inside 50. At around $1.88 for 2+ goals, the value is hard to ignore.

Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera 25+ Disposals | Mattaes Philipou 20+ Disposals | Max Hall 1+ Goal
Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera is primed to respond after being held to just 21 disposals by Geelong's tag last week, ending a run of seven consecutive 30+ disposal games. He'll relish a matchup against North Melbourne after averaging 30.1 disposals this season and should get back to finding plenty of the football. Mattaes Phillipou has thrived since returning to the senior side in a much more permanent midfield role, recording 25, 24 and 28 disposals in his past three games. Max Hall rounds out the multi as a strong anytime goalscorer, having kicked four goals in his past five matches while averaging 1.1 goals per game this season.
