2023 AFL Round 10 Expert Tips
Friday May 19th
Port Adelaide and Melbourne kick off Round 10 with a match that should bring a finals-like atmosphere with both teams in the top four on the ladder. The locals will be hostile as the Power look to topple the premiership fancies in the Demons. If the Power can get the win, they are right in the premiership discussions, but if Melbourne take home the points, then they are going to be hard to stop in season 2023. Watch this match on Kayo!
Saturday May 20th
The Kangaroos and the Sydney Swans kick off a big Saturday of AFL action. Both teams are hurting and copping plenty of injuries so this might become a bit of a scrap. The Roos have the home ground advantage under the roof of Marvel but the Swans will be looking to get some momentum back with a confidence, and percentage, boosting victory.
The Bulldogs and the Crows always put on an impressive show and with both sides hanging around at the bottom end of the eight, this match becomes a true eight-point match. It's the Bulldogs home game but do they have much advantage at Mars Stadium in Ballarat?
The Dockers have had a poor 2023 season, but they bounced back with an upset win over the Swans last match. Can they knock off last year's two grand finalists in successive weeks? The Cats were starting to purr again in season 2023 before the Tigers halted their run last week. The Cats will be looking to bounce back and get the job done out west.
The Q-Clash will see the Lions host the Suns at the Gabba on Saturday night. The Suns appear to be improving but it will be a tough ask against the Lions who are cementing their spot as a premiership contender. Should be a spirited contest!
The highlight of Super Saturday is undoubtedly the "Dreamtime at the G" match on Saturday night. This evening is more than just a football match - it's a celebration of our indigenous culture and the spectacular contributions of indigenous players to our great game. Essendon and Richmond always put on a great show, regardless of their ladder positions.
Sunday May 21st
Is this the Harley Reid Cup? It's 17th versus 18th and with the loser likely to finish last this season, they could be eyeing off young gun Harley Reid with the #1 draft pick! Launceston is in for a treat in this one!
Two old foes go at it one more time as the MCG will be filled to see Carlton and Collingwood on Sunday afternoon. Collingwood have been the team to beat this season while Carlton are desperate to contend with the best in the league as they chase that elusive finals berth. This should be a classic!
The Giants will host the Saints to wrap up Round 10 in a tricky game to call. The Giants are full of talent, and while the Saints have had a sensational start to the season, can they carry that form throughout the rest of the season. Expect this to be a close one!
