St Kilda vs Richmond Preview & Tips: 2026 AFL Round 10

May 15th 2026, 11:08am, By: Andy Rosos

St Kilda vs Richmond Prediction & Betting Tips

Marvel Stadium hosts an intriguing clash on Saturday night as St Kilda look to keep their season alive against an improving Richmond outfit that is beginning to show genuine signs of growth despite sitting near the bottom of the ladder. The Saints enter this matchup after a disappointing fadeout against Gold Coast in Darwin, but the conditions in the Top End made that game difficult to properly assess. Prior to that, St Kilda had completely transformed their offensive output, piling on scores against Carlton and West Coast with a much more aggressive brand of football. Richmond, meanwhile, continue to scrap hard every week and have become far more competitive over the past month, creating the recipe for a surprisingly entertaining contest.

We bring you our full preview and expert tips for the Saints vs Tigers below. And if you’re keen to back in our tips, consider doing so at Bet365 - one of the biggest and best sportsbooks in the world!

St Kilda vs Richmond Prediction & Betting Tips: AFL 2026 Round 10

Saints Finding Offence but Missing Key Players

St Kilda’s recent form has been fascinating because the attacking ceiling suddenly looks much higher than it did earlier in the season. Ross Lyon’s side were once built purely around territory, pressure and defensive structure, but over the past month the Saints have shown far more willingness to move the ball aggressively and attack through turnover.

Even in the loss to Gold Coast, St Kilda exploded early and Darcy Wilson’s four-goal performance highlighted how dangerous their running players can become when the Saints get ascendancy around the contest. The Saints regularly cracked 100 points prior to the Darwin trip and should find conditions at Marvel far more suited to their preferred style.

The absence of Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera still matters enormously because of the composure and transition he provides off half-back, but it could also create more opportunity for others to accumulate and become primary distributors. Bradley Hill, Jack Sinclair and Hugo Garcia should all see increased involvement through the middle and across half-back chains.

Tigers Competing Harder Every Week

Richmond’s record still looks ugly at 1-8, but the Tigers are no longer the easy kill they appeared to be early in the season. Adem Yze’s young side are beginning to show real competitiveness around stoppage and have consistently hung around in games against stronger opposition over the past month.

Last week against Adelaide, Richmond led at half-time after taking the game on aggressively through the corridor and applying strong pressure forward of centre. Eventually the Crows’ class overwhelmed them, but there were again positive signs through the midfield and forward structure.

Jack Ross has become one of the more reliable ball winners in the competition recently, posting four straight games with 25+ disposals, while Jacob Hopper continues to quietly accumulate through sheer midfield volume. Tom Lynch also looked closer to his best against Adelaide with three goals and remains capable of keeping Richmond competitive if the supply is there.

What to Expect? Here’s Our Best Bet

The Over 179.5 total points shapes as the best play in this matchup. St Kilda’s recent shift towards a far more attacking brand has changed the complexion of their games dramatically and Marvel Stadium conditions should only enhance that style further.

Removing the Darwin loss from the equation because of the slippery conditions, the Saints have consistently shown an ability to generate big scores over the past month. Their transition game has improved significantly and they are getting strong scoreboard contributions from a wider range of players.

Richmond should contribute enough offensively themselves to help this total along. The Tigers are competing much harder through the corridor and around stoppage than they were earlier in the season, while St Kilda’s own defensive structure can still be exposed at times when games open up.

St Kilda vs Richmond Prop Bet

Wilson has become one of the Saints’ most dangerous chain runners this season and continues to find himself on the end of scoring opportunities when St Kilda are controlling territory. He exploded for four goals against Gold Coast last week and his running power makes him extremely difficult to track once the Saints get overlap possession going. Against a Richmond side that can struggle defensively in transition, Wilson shapes as excellent value for another multi-goal performance.

Hugo Garcia 25+ Disposals | Bradley Hill 20+ Disposals | Jacob Hopper 20+ Disposals

Without Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera in the side, Hugo Garcia should again see increased midfield responsibility and centre bounce attendances. That is where his best football has come recently, clearing 25+ disposals in three of his last five games while averaging exactly 25 across that span.

Bradley Hill also looms for another busy night, with the Saints likely to funnel more transition ball through his running and overlap work off half-back. Hill has now hit 20+ disposals in five straight matches and this game style suits him perfectly.

For Richmond, Jacob Hopper remains one of the safest accumulation plays on the board. He rarely explodes for monster numbers but consistently finds his way past 20 disposals through pure midfield volume and contested work around stoppages.
