Sunday afternoon football kicks off with a potential spoon bowl, as the reeling Rabbitohs head north to take on the Titans on the Gold Coast. With these teams sitting 16th and 17th on the ladder, the loser here will have one hand on the spoon, so whilst it isn’t the most exciting of matchups, there will be plenty on the line on Sunday for both teams.

Titans vs Rabbitohs Prediction & Tips: 2025 NRL Round 23
Titans’ Top Level Up There with the Best
The Titans’ form over the past few weeks has been encouraging, however as has come to be expected of them throughout the past several seasons, they are simply unable to put together a complete 80-minute performance. After beating the Warriors in round 21 after playing like title contenders for 40 minutes, they followed it up last week with what can only be described as an abysmal opening 40 minutes against the Panthers, trailing 24-0 at halftime. Then, out of nowhere, they piled on 26 unanswered points in 25 minutes, against a team that has only conceded 28 points over their last four games. Ultimately, the Titans went down in Golden Point (in rather dubious circumstances), but they once again showed they have a high level of play when at their best.
Jayden Campbell was terrific again for the Titans, running for 240 metres, scoring a try, breaking the line twice, busting 11 tackles, and kicking for 417 metres. He really is great to watch when he gets going and is someone the Titans have to lock up long term. Elsewhere, AJ Brimson continued his terrific form, running for over 200 metres, setting up two tries and breaking 11 tackles. These two must remain fit long term for the Titans.
Busted Bunnies to Bounce Back?
The Rabbitohs were completely demolished last weekend, going down 60-14 to the Broncos at Suncorp. It was really a glorified training run for the Broncos, against a Rabbitohs team that were missing so many of their first 17. The Bunnies are set to welcome back several key players this week, with one name looming large on the extended bench, one Latrell Mitchell. If Latrell plays, he has the ability to pull this team up by its bootlaces and take them to the win by himself, and given it is Indigenous Round, I would not at all be surprised to see the superstar back this week.
There wasn’t a whole lot to be proud of last week as a Rabbitohs fan, with Jye Gray once again trying his ass off, running for 170 metres and busting 7 tackles. It’s a shame that Gray can’t get a start here with Mitchell in the line-up, as he thoroughly deserves to play 80 minutes every week.
The Bunnies have now lost 9-straight, with their last victory coming over the Tigers way back in round 11. After starting the season 4-1, it has been a long four months for struggling Rabbitohs fans, but a win here would bring a smile to their faces in Indigenous Round.
Titans vs Rabbitohs Recent History
The Rabbitohs have an outstanding recent record over the Titans, winning nine in a row against the hapless Titans. The last victory for the Titans was a 29-28 Golden Point victory over the Rabbitohs, way back in 2016, when Ash Taylor slotted the field goal with two minutes left in GP.
The teams don’t exactly have a storied rivalry, with the pair only meeting once each season every year since 2015 apart from the 2021 season, where they met twice.
The last time the two clubs met was round 14 of the 2024 season at Cbus Super Stadium, where the game closed a pick em’, with a mammoth total of 54.5. It was all the visitors, as the Rabbitohs piled on nine tries to win comfortably, 46-12. Latrell Mitchell was at his ball playing best, setting up three try / line break combos, whilst also scoring one himself in a terrific display from the fullback. Boy the Bunnies will be hoping he laces them up this week.
Titans Favourites by 6.5? Yeahhh, Nah
The Titans were locked in as 4.5-point favourites on the lookahead, before the number predictably shifted to 6.5 at re-open after the Bunnies were annihilated last week, and the Titans were great for 40 minutes against the Panthers. The number hasn’t moved any further, and I would imagine the market will stay pretty stagnant until there is confirmation either way on Latrell Mitchell, one of the few players in the NRL who has a huge impact on spreads. Realistically, the bet on the spread here is purely down to whether Latrell plays or not. With the teams named this week (minus Latrell), I’d make the Titans a 7.5-point favourite, however if Latrell were to return, I’d make this about a 2.5-point start for the Titans. This is a bit of a shot in the dark, and as such the bet will be small, but I’m backing Latrell to play in Indigenous round and for the Bunnies to not only cover the spread but win the game. The Titans have been woeful over the past two years as favourites, covering just once in seven games as favourites.
Looking towards the total, it opened 54.5 and has been bet down slightly to 53.5. I agree with the move from a numbers standpoint, with my fair total sitting at 50.5, however with the way the Rabbitohs defended last week it’s too difficult to back this going under. The Titans have shown they have plenty of points in them, and I’d actually be more inclined to bet the over in this contest.
So, we will take the Bunnies in an upset here. If word trickles through that Latrell won’t play before you read this, don’t make the bet, but for now I’ll take the Rabbitohs.

Titans vs Rabbitohs Player Prop Bet: AJ Gets His Mate Back
Our Best Prop Bet: Johnston 1+ Try
$1.80 on Johnston to score against the Titans is an easy bet for mine. With Latrell Mitchell (hopefully) back on the left, lock AJ in for at least one on Sunday afternoon.
Alex Johnston (1+ try)
$1.80 (1.5 Units)
Same Game Multi: Titans vs Rabbitohs
Leg 1: Over 53.5 – I like the over here, as mentioned above.
Leg 2: A Johnston (1+ try) – See Best Prop Bet.
Leg 3: B Kelly (1+ try) – It’s been a bit of a down year for Kelly, scoring just the three tries this season. Is due, and comes up against a poor Rabbitohs right edge, with Bentley-Hape and Isaiah Tass outside an inexperienced half, expect the Titans to target that side.
