Two teams banging on the door of the top four complete round 10 on Sunday afternoon, as the Sea Eagles host the Sharks at Brookvale. With both teams near enough to full strength, this should be a great game of football, and potentially the game of the round. Let’s find some betting value.

Match Preview
The Sea Eagles come off the bye into this clash, with the last time we saw the Sea Eagles being their impressive win in round 8 over the Panthers. It was an odd game of football, but there’s no doubt the Sea Eagles deserved the win, and they will come off the bye fresh and full of confidence.
The Sharks needed a bounce back after their round 8 loss to the Tigers, and whilst they did manage to get the better of the Eels, it wasn’t an overly dominant victory. The Sharks won the game 28-18, however it was 22-18 with 15 minutes left, and anyone’s game. Nicho Hynes was exceptional, in what is a huge positive for the Sharks, as he led the team with three try assists and line break assists. His spike in form has coincided with a dip in the form of Braydon Trindall, and until these halves can figure out how to both contribute, the ceiling may be fixed on the Sharks this season.
The Sharks and Sea Eagles only met a month ago, with both teams travelling to Perth for the round 6 double header. The Sharks closed 5.5-point favourites at the neutral site venue, with a total of 49.5. Despite being without Tom Trbojevic, the Sea Eagles put up a fight, trailing only 14-12 after an hour of game time. Two unanswered tries from the Sharks put them up 24-12, before a late DCE try got the Sea Eagles back within 6. That’s where it ended though, with the Sharks winning 24-18.
This week, the Sea Eagles opened 2.5-point favourites, and the hasn’t shifted all week. This number indicates both teams are viewed almost identically by the market, and I really can’t disagree. I see these teams as about as equal as any two teams in the competition, and as such the line is too tight here.
The total opened 48.5, and it hasn’t moved either. I have a fair total of 45.5, so would like the under here, but the Sunday afternoon factor once again scares me off.
So, I’ll look to bet this one to be a close encounter. Both these teams have plenty to play for, and both have tough matchups next weekend, meaning they will not want to head into the game in round 11 off the back of a loss. Talent across the park for both teams, let’s see a tight one here.

Leg 1: T Trbojevic (1+ try) – Trbojevic has been a little low on the try scoring list this season (one try in four games), but after a week off resting, I’ll back him in here.
Leg 2: S Stonestreet (1+ try) – Writing this kid’s name every time I preview the Sharks, and it’s not a bad strategy. Eight tries in nine games this season and attacking the weaker side of the Sea Eagles’ defence.
Leg 3: Sea Eagles (-2.5) – At home, with Tommy Turbo back to full health, the Sea Eagles should be just a little bit too good here.
SGM Odds: $6.50 at BoomBet
