GWS vs Brisbane Prediction & Betting Tips: AFL 2026 Round 11
Giants Searching For Answers After Another Fadeout
The Giants head into Round 11 under genuine pressure after falling to 4-6 following last weekend’s disappointing loss to West Coast. Adam Kingsley’s side looked in control late in the third quarter before conceding the final four goals of the game in a frustrating collapse that again highlighted some of their issues defensively when momentum swings against them.
Clayton Oliver did everything possible to drag the Giants over the line with 38 disposals and 12 clearances, while Lachie Ash and Jake Stringer also had strong moments. But the broader concern remains their inability to consistently score against quality opposition. GWS have now failed to score more than 74 points in all six of their losses this season and are averaging just 81.6 points across their last five games.
Lions Still Among The AFL’s Elite
Brisbane may have been comfortably handled by Geelong last week, but there is little reason to overreact to one poor quarter against another premiership contender. Prior to that loss, the Lions had won three straight games in dominant fashion and remain one of the competition’s best attacking sides for clearances, inside 50s and scoring shots generated.
Even against the Cats, Brisbane still created plenty of opportunities before being overrun during a brutal third quarter burst. Charlie Cameron continued his excellent form with another three goals, while Josh Dunkley and Lachie Neale again worked tirelessly through the midfield. Chris Fagan’s side are still averaging nearly 110 points per game across their last five matches and their midfield depth remains one of the strongest weapons in the AFL.
Giants vs Lions? Here’s Our North Melbourne vs Gold Coast Tip
Brisbane look well placed to bounce back here. The Lions haven’t completely set the world alight over the last month and last week’s loss to Geelong exposed a few vulnerabilities, but they still look a level above the current version of GWS. Their midfield depth, territory game and ability to generate repeat inside 50s should gradually wear the Giants down over four quarters.
The concern for GWS is that Brisbane are exactly the type of side that can punish their defensive lapses once momentum shifts. The Giants have struggled badly against stronger opposition this season and their inability to consistently score against top sides remains a major issue. Expect Brisbane to control field position for long periods and eventually pull away late, making the Lions -10.5 the preferred play.

GWS vs Brisbane Prop Bet
Stephen Coniglio 20+ disposals shapes as a sneaky value option in this matchup. He has only cleared the mark four times this season, but this feels like the type of game where GWS may need to reshuffle the midfield mix after last week’s disappointing performance. Coniglio also has a strong history at ENGIE Stadium and tends to play his best football there, making this line look very achievable if his midfield minutes rise.

Josh Dunkley 20+ disposals | Harry Himmelberg 15+ disposals | Cam Rayner 1+ goal
Dunkley continues to be one of the safest accumulation plays in the competition, clearing 20+ in four of his last five matches and his last seven straight against the Giants. Himmelberg quietly keeps finding the footy at ENGIE Stadium and has now recorded 15+ disposals in six consecutive matches at the venue, including 20 last week against West Coast. Cam Rayner also looks a strong inclusion after kicking at least one goal in each of Brisbane’s last 16 away matches.
