Michael Lee returns with his esports betting tips and predictions for the first round of action at BLAST Premier: Spring Final 2023, on Wednesday, June 7. Today he looks at Team Vitality vs Imperial, G2 Esports vs Cloud9, and Heroic vs Complexity.
Esports Betting Tips: Wednesday, June 7th 2023
Team Vitality vs Imperial
BLAST Premier: Spring Final 2023
Team Vitality are the current favourites to win BLAST Premier: Spring Final 2023, priced at 3.00 on the outright betting markets, whereas Imperial are complete outsiders, priced at 67.00 to win the trophy. So it's not surprising to learn that Team Vitality are expected to dominate in the tournament's opening match.
Team Vitality have recently won BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023, just weeks after winning IEM Rio 2023, earning the no.1 spot on the CS:GO world rankings. Impartial has not accomplished anything even remotely as impressive e this year, and their only notable success came in April when the Brazilians won BLAST Premier: Spring American Showdown 2023.
Since then, Imperial have attended and suffered early exits from BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023: American RMR (9th-12th), Intel Extreme Masters Rio 2023 (13th-16th), and Brazy Party (13th-16th). Those results make one thing very clear – Imperial are not good enough to win anything at the highest level.
I would consider backing Imperial with a round handicap here if this was a BO1 match, but it's BO3, and the total line is set at just 13.5 total rounds, which is way too low to consider betting on the underdogs. Beyond that, Vitality are in exceptional form, and unless something goes wrong, they should come out of the game with plenty to spare.

G2 Esports vs Cloud9
BLAST Premier: Spring Final 2023
G2 Esports and Cloud9 recently attended IEM Dallas 2023, where neither team managed to produce a deep run. G2 Esports crashed out of the quarterfinals, whereas Cloud9 didn't even make it to the playoffs following a 1-2 loss against FaZe Clan in Group B lower bracket final.
Since G2 Esports reached deeper into the tournament and have achieved more than Cloud9 this season (by winning IEM Katowice 2023), they are priced as favourites to win on Wednesday. But I'm not convinced that 1.57 is a fair price.
G2 Esports are a bit overhyped due to their success at IEM Katowice, but they haven't won much since and even in their recent games, G2 Esports didn't look good. Much of the same holds true for Cloud9, but even though Cloud9 hasn't impressed me, they shouldn't be viewed as a weaker team than G2.
This match can go both ways, so I'll take Cloud9 at 2.30 with PickleBet.

Heroic vs Complexity
BLAST Premier: Spring Final 2023
Complexity got invited to BLAST Premier: Spring Final 2023 because Natus Vincere withdrew from the tournament. And the fact that Complexity shouldn't even be here tells a lot about how good this team is.
Over the last five months, Complexity have won just one event - BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023: North American RMR Qualifier – but have not accomplished anything worth talking about at bigger tournaments. At the Major, Complexity crashed out in 20th-22nd place and before that exited ESL Challenger at DreamHack Melbourne 2023 in 5th-6th.
Compared to what Heroic have produced, that is worth noting. Heroic have yet to win a tournament this season, but they reached the finals of European RMR and IEM Rio 2023, to which they added two 3rd-4th place finishes at Paris Major and IEM Dallas 2023.
Even though Heroic can occasionally underdeliver against weaker teams, it's extremely tough to justify betting on Complexity here. Complexity have not won against a top-10-rated team once this year, and I don't see that changing on Wednesday.
Heroic -12.5 rounds (total)
$1.80 (1 Unit)
