Draftstars Offer Huge $100K DFS Comp for 2017 AFL Grand Final

September 27th 2017, 6:58pm, By: admin

To celebrate another fantastic year of daily fantasy AFL, the folks at Drafstars will be holding the most lucrative fantasy tournaments in Australian history this weekend for the Grand Final!

The tournament, which costs just $15 to enter, will have a massive prize-pool of $100,000, with the winner set to take home a whopping $15,000 and at least 1,600 will cash out.

In fact, the $100,000 tournament is the richest tournament in all of daily fantasy sports outside of the US, and that’s coming from Draftstars CEO Matt Sanders himself.

Punters can throw their hat in the ring for just $15 for a chance at this once in a lifetime win or if you fancy spending a bit extra, you can enter up to 75 teams in the tourney!

You don’t have to come in the top few placings to win cash either. Draftstars will be cashing the highest amount of players they ever have in one game this tournament, with the top 1640 players at least turning their $15 into $20.

As usual, we will provide our best daily fantasy team of the week for the big game, not that we’ve had much luck so far this year but the Grand Final extravaganza could finally be the one!

If you don’t fancy paying the $15 entry fee this time around, then believe it or not, Draftstars are actually giving away ANOTHER $100,000 in their ‘Beat Barry’ promotion for the Grand Final. It’s free to enter and all you have to do is select a team that beats the one picked by Barry Hall, if you do, you’ll share in the $100k with the other winners.

Forwards

Kane Lambert
Lambert has been a consistent scorer this season, averaging 85 points and has had some decent scores so far in the finals, notably a 98 against Geelong in the first qualifier. If he can lay four or five tackles should score well as he usually racks up uncontested marks.

Hugh Greenwood
After a ridiculous start to his career earlier in the season, Greenwood has levelled out somewhat and now sits with a 75 point average on the season. Was disappointing against Geelong with just 27 points but had 85 and 96 in the two games before that. Is good value at just $10k.

Midfielders

Matt Crouch
Superstar midfielder Matt Crouch headlines the team at just over $15k. Hasn’t scored under 100 in his last four games and has been particularly good in the finals with scores of 115 and 122. Racks up possessions for fun and averages 5 tackles a game, should be a lock for 100.

Shane Edwards
Was decent in the win over GWS, racking up 19 possessions and a goal for 74 total points. Needs to add more tackles to score well, as he did in the first final when he scored 101 points and if he can chip in with a goal or two is a chance for an 80+ score.

Rory Atkins
Averages 80 points on the season so far and impressed in last week’s prelim with 87 against the Cats. Racks up big uncontested mark numbers with 9 last week and doesn’t really need to have a lot of tackles to score well, so any added is a bonus.

Jack Graham
The young Tiger is the obvious cheap pick going into the granny. At just $8,550 has real scoring potential shown in a 84 point performance in the last round of the home and away season. Is a tackling machine with 19 over his last three games.

Defenders

Brandon Ellis
Is lucky to be playing in the Grand Final after a high hit on GWS’ Lachie Whitfield in the prelim final. Hasn’t had the best final series to date with scores of 47 and 44 but ended the regular season with a big 105 against the Saints. Has the ability to accumulate possessions and is fairly cheap at $10,600.

Jake Kelly
Another value pick here with young Crow Jake Kelly. Scored 82 in the first final against the Giants. Is able to accumulate uncontested marks across half back and while he only averages 58 on the season, has bumped that up to 71 over his last three games.

Ruck

Sam Jacobs
Absolutely decimated the Tigers when the two teams met back in Round 6. Had a monster 50 hitouts against Nankervis and scored 158 points. Has been over 100 in three of his last four games and will need to be big here for the Crows to win.
