Cranbourne Cup Day awaits punters on Saturday at Melbourne and it’s a tough but good program for punters. After a strong finishing effort to score at Flemington last start, Sabaj is the favourite in the Cup. The Meteorite is the other feature on the program with Hedged and Zou Sensation the equal favourites in that race. It has been a Dry week at Cranbourne so the track is likely to be Good. Race 1 starts at 12:20pm (AEDT), with the Cup 4:25pm (AEDT). My three best bets and quaddie numbers are below!

Cranbourne Racing Tips: Saturday, November 22nd 2025
Race 1: Reed Cranes & Haulage Leila Rose Foundation Handicap 1300 - 12:20pm (AEDT)
(6) Prince Tycoon let us down last start when leading but fishing 5th at The Valley over 1200m but that was in a much harder race than this and I think the Prince can bounce back. He has won on the Dry before and has the pace to cross over from barrier 8 for Willow and lead all of the way.
(3) Madiyya is the obvious danger having won her last three races, all on Good tracks which she gets again. She may settle back but she is sure to be running on first up from a spell.
(1) Kahlof is pretty consistent and may sit on the back of Prince Tycoon in this and get a cheap run. Does rise 8kg in weight though which is the concern.
(6) Prince Tycoon WIN
$3.00 (2 units)
Race 8: Ladbrokes Cranbourne Cup 1600m - 4:25pm (AEDT)
(14) Enxuto has nice figures on Good tracks and he has been racing well without winning this campaign. Two starts back he couldn’t get out down the home straight in the Group 2 Lin Lithgow and he still ran 3rd only beaten 1.25L. Next start he settled 4th but simply couldn’t quicken like some others and ran 4th only beaten 1.25L again. He likes the mile, is down in the weights and is over the odds.
(17) Pondalowie we backed last week and he looked the winner at the 300m but couldn’t get out of a pocket and ran 6th only beaten 1.5L. Drops 2kg and is another who is over the odds. Punters note that he hasn’t won a race in 14 months.
(15) Sabaj was very impressive when winning on a wet track at Flemington last start when he sailed past his opposition at Flemington. Gets a Dry track here and has drawn wide in 15. Will be the favourite but gets a smaller home straight here.
Also Backing: (17) Pondalowie Each-Way $23/$5.00 (0.50 units)
(14) Enxuto WIN
$11 (1 Unit)
Race 9: Ladbrokes Meteorite 1200m - 5:05pm (AEDT)
(8) Hedged should get a gun run in this race after drawing barrier 3. He should settle in the box seat and he has a big chance of winning his first race over the 1200m. He was behind the leader last week when 2nd at at Caulfield and with a similar run here he can go the one better. He ran a 2nd over this track&distance October 10 after drawing the inside and he would have learned from that experience.
(6) Need Some Luck has been in the money 7 times from 8 starts on Dry ground and has only missed a placing once over this distance from 11 attempts. Ran on well to score at Flemington last start and he might settle just behind Hedged in this race.
(5) Zou Sensation likes Dry tracks and is proven in this class. Loves the 1200m and he just got defeated by Warnie when 2nd last start and that was over the 1400m. The drop back in distance looks ideal.
(8) Hedged WIN
$5.00 (1 unit)
