The Brisbane Lions and GWS Giants will kick off a three-game Saturday slate in Round 14 of the AFL season. It’s a top eight clash with early finals ramifications, so it’s set to be a cracker from 1.20pm at the Gabba.

Brisbane vs GWS Prediction & Tips: 2025 AFL Round 14
All Roar, No Reward For Lions
The Lions snapped a two-game winning streak when they went down to the Crows in Adelaide last Friday night. The Lions lost despite a fairly dominant performance in the midfield, where they had eight of the top nine disposal getters on the ground, Will Ashcroft and Jarrod Berry leading the way. They were also +19 in clearances and +13 in inside 50s, but failed to fire in front of goal, kicking 8.15. Despite the loss, the Lions should be fairly buoyed by the performance, as they had control over nearly every aspect of the game outside of the scoreboard.
Greater Inconsistency
The Giants were also riding a two-game win streak when they faced off against an Adelaide based team last week, the Power. They also had their streak snapped, but weren’t nearly as impressive as the Lions in their loss. Tom Green continued his fantastic year, racking up another 31 touches, but ultimately the Giants struggled to find avenues to goal, with only Riccardi in and Hogan kicking multiple goals in the low scoring loss. The Giants sit inside the eight on percentage alone, so every game on their run home will be crucial to finals chances.
Giant Midfield Inclusion
The Giants will have some handy inclusions for the clash, with star midfielder Finn Callaghan making his way back into the side as well as youngster Harry Rowston. The Giants still have an extensive injury list that includes key players Stephen Coniglio, Jake Stringer, Kieren Briggs, Leek Aleer and Callan Ward. The Lions, on the other hand, are one of the healthier teams in the league, missing only Keidean Coleman for an extensive period at the moment.
Lions or Giants? Here’s our Brisbane vs GWS Tip
The Lions start as 19.5 point favourites at home, which I actually think is a little high for this clash. The Gabba has traditionally been a fortress for Brisbane, but this season's form suggests it no longer holds the same fear factor. They are just 4-2 there this season, having suffered losses to Melbourne and Collingwood. Their four wins at the Gabba have come by an average margin of just 15.75 points. The Lions were too good for the Giants in the semi-final last year, winning by five points, but the Giants won their two previous meetings by an average of 36 points. I think the Giants cover the 19.5 point line here.

Brisbane Lions vs GWS Giants Player Prop Bet
Our Best Player Prop: Cam Rayner 2+ Goals
Hedging slightly here on our main tip but I think there is a strong chance both hit. Cam Rayner has been finding his feet in front of goal over the last month, booting eight goals in his last five games. He kicked 2+ in three of those games and should get continued opportunity up forward with the Lions midfield currently at full strength.

Same Game Multi
Throughout the 2025 AFL season we’ll be putting together a fun same game multi for every match using Dabble.
Jake Riccardi 1+ Goal - Riccardi has been fantastic up forward for the Giants over the past month, booting seven goals in his last three games. Will be heavily in the action up front the Giants again here and should get a decent matchup as the third option.
Josh Kelly 20+ Disposals - Has been a little down on form recently but expecting him to bounce back here as it’s a rare occasion this prime accumulator has multiple bad weeks on the trot. Has had 20+ in 7/9 games this season.
Dayne Zorko 20+ Disposals - Set and forget here, had just 21 last week against the Crows but that was one of his lowest disposal game of the year so far. Has cleared 20+ in every game.
