We’re now nearly a week into what’s been an exciting 2019-20 NBA season. Action continues on Tuesday with a huge 11-game slate on the cards. As always, we bring you previews and betting tips for the three best value games on the slate. Good luck to everyone us!
NBA Betting Tips Tuesday 29th October
Golden State Warriors @ New Orleans Pelicans (11am)
Everyone expected the Warriors to drop off the pace a bit this season as a result of their roster overhaul and injury list, however, no one thought they would be this bad. They were pumped by the Clippers in their first game while conceding over 140 points, only to be punished by the Thunder on Monday where they trailed by 40 at one point. Now on the second night of a road back-to-back, things won’t be any easier for them in Game 3.
The Pelicans have also had a tough start to their campaign and come into this clash at 0-3. They’ve certainly been more competitive than the Warriors however, losing all three of their games by less than 10 points, including an overtime loss to Toronto in their season opener. Now back at home for the second time this season, the Pelicans will be eyeing off their first win.
Aside from their three active All-Stars, the Warriors roster looks like it should be competing in the D-League. They’ve been horrible in both games they’ve played and come up against a Pelicans outfit that can put up points in a hurry. We expect the home side to prove too good in this one.

OKC Thunder @ Houston Rockets (11am)
The Thunder were the latest team to give the Warriors a beat down when they defeated them 120-92 at home on Monday. It was the Thunder’s first win for the season and may get the ball rolling for a team with plenty of fresh faces. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been their best contributor through three games with averages of 24 points, six rebounds and three assists, while shooting over 50% from the floor.
The Rockets got off to a ‘rocky’ start with a loss in their season opener against the Bucks. They led for the majority of the game but couldn’t quite hold off Giannis and co. in the fourth quarter. They bounced back with a narrow win over the Pelicans on Sunday with Westbrook leading the way with a triple double that saw him overtake Magic Johnson on the all-time list.
As many expected, the Rockets haven’t quite looked in sync yet with the addition of Westbrook. He’s been playing pretty well, although James Harden has really been struggling with his shot, particularly from beyond the arc (11.5% 3pt FG). We expect their relative struggles to continue until they get their chemistry right, which means we’re happy to take them on at the spread before the bookies adjust.
Utah Jazz @ Phoenix Suns (1pm)
The Utah Jazz bounced back from a disappointing loss to the Lakers on Saturday with a huge 32-point thumping of the Kings on Sunday. Mike Conley finally hit a few shots (5/11 FG) and Bojan Bogdanovic proved why he’s starting over Joe Ingles with 26 points in 24 minutes. The Jazz are now 2-1 for the season and have been fantastic on the defensive end, giving up just 90 points per contest.
The Suns have arguably been the biggest surprise packet in the season so far, although it’s a very small sample size. They’re at 2-1 and recorded probably the biggest upset of the season last time out when they defeated the Clippers without Ayton and Rubio suiting up. Devin Booker was magnificent with 30 points, while Aussie Aron Baynes was a brut with his 14 points and eight rebounds in a starting role.
The Suns have been far better on the defensive this season than we’ve seen in the past and come up against arguably the best defensive team in the league in the Jazz. We believe the total has been set at least 5-10 points too high and will be playing the unders here.
