West Indies vs Australia 3rd T20I Preview & Betting Tips
Bowling Attack Taken Down Again
The West Indies bowling attack was torn apart for a second game, as Australia chased down the target of 173 in just 15.2 overs. Alzarri Joseph was taken to the cleaners with figures of 1/50 off just 3 overs, while Andre Russell (economy rate of 16), Gudakesh Motie (11), Roston Chase (10.5), and Jason Holder (9.3) were all expensive. Only Akeal Hosein (0/31 off 4) went at an economy rate of under 9.
Just like game one, the Windies got off to a flying start with the bat, sitting at 0/63 in the seventh over after Brandon King smashed 51 off just 36 deliveries. The West Indies then lost 5/35 in the next 5 overs, which stalled their innings in a costly manner. Andre Russell whacked 36 off 15 and Gudakesh Motie 18* off 9, helped the West Indies to 8/172, however it was never going to be enough on that batting surface.
The West Indies have a side stacked full of T20 experience, so it’s remarkable they’ve struggled so much in this series. Their middle order batting has let them down in both games and their bowling has been unable to restrict the Australian batting lineup. With Andre Russell now out of the side, there is an opportunity for the Windies to shake up their side with some more bowling depth.
Batting Unit Leading The Way
Once again Australia’s batting unit had another great performance, led by an unbeaten 131 partnership between Josh Inglis and Cameron Green. Inglis smashed 78* off 33 with seven 4’s and five 6’s, while Cam Green hit a second straight half century with 56* off 32. Green has started to come into his own in T20 cricket, scoring 231 runs at an average of 77 in his last six T20 internationals, with four scores above 36 in his last six games.
In game one it was Australia’s death bowling that kept the West Indies to a chaseable score, however it was the Aussies work between overs 8-14 which put the Windies in a major hole. Australia took 5/35 in that timespan, and also took 3/9 in a nine ball period between overs 16.5 and 18.2, which included the key wickets of Andre Russell, Jason Holder and Rovman Powell. Adam Zampa was the pick of the bowlers with 3/29 and was well supported by Glenn Maxwell (2/15) and Nathan Ellis (2/34).
Australia dropped Jake Fraser-McGurk for Tim David, and were set to use Josh Inglis as the opener, but pivoted to using Glenn Maxwell to target Akeal Hosein. Whether Australia keep Inglis at three given his excellent knock will be a factor to watch for in game three.
Here's Our West Indies vs Australia Tip
With how well Australia are batting at the moment, it’s difficult to see the West Indies turning things around given the form of their bowling attack. Warner Park has historically been more suited to pace bowling, which should further play into Australia’s favour. Australia are playing excellent T20 cricket and have won eight of their last nine T20 Internationals.
The West Indies have lost seven of their last eight T20I’s and just cannot find consistency over the entire 20 overs in either innings. Their batting has shown glimpses, but they haven’t been able to put together the full 20 overs that is required to beat Australia. The Aussies will continue their winning ways and move to a 3-0 series lead.

It took a long time for him to crack into the international set up, but Josh Inglis is becoming Australia’s most important player.
