Alexander 'The Great' Volkanovski returns this weekend to defend his UFC featherweight title against Movsar Evloev in the main event of UFC 333. In the co-main event, the UFC bantamweight title is on the line in a highly anticipated trilogy fight between Petr Yan and Merab Dvalishvili, and the action doesn't stop there.

Alexander Volkanovski incredibly enters this weekend's title fight as an underdog despite only losing to arguably the two most dominant fighters to enter the Octagon in the last five years in his entire UFC career, Ilia Topuria and Islam Makhachev. Last time out, the Aussie dominated Diego Lopes in a rematch where he landed 61% of the significant strikes he threw. Volkanovski remains a threat in each aspect of MMA and, despite being 38, still seems to have more in the tank.
His opponent this weekend, Movsar Evloev, is a perfect 20-0 in his MMA career. The Russian leans heavily on his wrestling base and grinds out opponents en route to decision win after decision win. He did exactly that last time out against Lerone Murphy, who simply couldn't keep him off him. Interestingly, in his seven-year UFC tenure, the 32-year-old has failed to register a single finish.
That poses a unique proposition for Volkanovski, who has faced straight-up killers his entire career. It also makes me even more confused as to why he is the underdog. The Aussie knows how to get his hand raised and rack up rounds. He did so against one of the greatest round winners of the modern MMA era, Max Holloway, three times. He also showed his elite wrestling against a bigger and better wrestler in Makhachev.
While it is hardly an easy fight for Volkanovski, I back him to do enough damage to get his hand raised against an opponent who has 10 straight decision wins, two of which were split decisions. Give me the Aussie all day.

For the third time, we will see Petr Yan face Merab Dvalishvili this weekend, and what a mouth-watering bout it is. The pair have each won one fight apiece and most recently we saw one of the best fights in bantamweight history in December 2025, when over 350 strikes were landed between the two before Yan reclaimed the title by decision.
Dvalishvili managed just two takedowns in that fight and was largely happy to trade with his Russian opponent. It was also his fourth fight in the span of 12 months, and it appeared the 'Machine' ran out of a bit of gas. I think the break since will prove to be the difference as a hungry Dvalishvili pushes the pace and the wrestling to reclaim his title. I am again stunned at the bookies' lines and am happy to dive into the Georgian with confidence.

A massive fight in the heavyweight division is also on the main card, with Alexander Volkov one win away from a title shot as he faces the rising Kuniev.
I feel this will be one-way traffic for Volkov, who will use his huge reach advantage to pepper the Russian with jabs. He also has great lateral movement and fight IQ. Add that to the fact that Kuniev lands at just 55% and averages less than one takedown over 15 minutes, and I am confident Volkov dominates the key moments en route to a decisive decision victory.
