Titans vs Raiders Predictions & Tips: NRL Round 9 2026
A step forward, and two back
The Titans were on a high as they headed to New Zealand following a victory over the Eels, but they were quickly delivered a reality check in their 28-20 road loss to the Warriors. Trailing 22-nil at HT, the Titans were caught short and two late tries added some validity to their performance. With 51% possession, they were always going to struggle with just 72% completion rate and were unable to gain any momentum as they were making 8.8m per carry. Their defence was poor too; they missed 45 tackles over 80 minutes and allowed 7 line breaks. They had a week off with the Bye last week and hopefully, that has rejuvenated them with enough focus to improve on that effort.
Ambushed by a team that wanted it more
Despite the Raiders heading into their match as outsiders, there was a genuine thought that they were the better team. A fightback in the first half saw them take a 14-10 lead at HT, but that is where their joy ended. When the Tigers kicked into another gear, they were unable to match them. Rather, poor mistakes and ill-discipline limited their effectiveness. In the end, they completed at only 78% with 46% possession, made only 8.5m per carry and were ineffective with PCM’s. Missing 38 tackles also impacted their momentum. If similar performances continue, there are worrying signs that they might be out of contention for the Finals sooner rather than later.
Stats that matter
- The Raiders have won 11 of the past 12 against the Titans. This leaves them with a 63% winning record at this ground compared to the Titans 43%.
- In the past 5 games, the average margin of victory is 8.6 points, with 4 out of the 5 games decided by 12 points or less. They have been high scoring contests though, with the average total points in the same time period sitting at 52.6 points.
- The Titans have a better record than the Raiders in 2026 on both sides of the ball. They score 20ppg in attack compared to the Raiders 19ppg. Defensively, they allow slightly fewer points with 25ppg compared to 29ppg for the Raiders.
Anything can happen in this one
It would’ve been unthinkable at the start of the season that the Titans would be favourites in this contest. That is the situation punters are faced with as a host of key players are missing for the Raiders. In weakens them in several areas, the same ones which were exposed by the Tigers. A bounce back from that game is expected but that doesn’t mean they can win this contest. The Titans have their own (weekly) issues to address and there are positives of late. Their most recent defeat would hurt their confidence, but it doesn’t dent their attacking ability. They can score points and with an improving defence, they are a chance of winning this match in that fashion. With multiple outcomes possible and a distinct lack of confidence in both sides, the preferred option is to stay away altogether from this match. If you must have a bet, stick with both teams keeping to their 2026 point difference and this game being a high scoring contest.

Titans vs Raiders Same Game Multi
Leg 1 = Weekes to score – he has 4 tries from his past 5 matches this season. Defending well, Weekes is yet to record a try against the Titans, and this week provides a great opportunity.
Leg 2 = Timoko to score – he is also in form with tries in his past 2 matches. Furthermore, he has a double in his last game against the Titans, adding to his tally of 4 tries in the past 5 matches.
Leg 3 = Campbell to score – if the Titans are to be a chance of winning this contest, they need Campbell at his attacking best. He has 4 tries from his past 5 NRL matches and will grow in confidence against a questionable defensive line.
