Storm vs Warriors Predictions & Tips: NRL Round 6 2026
3 losses leaves the Storm at a loss
The Storm hit rock bottom by their standards last week as they were handed a 50-10 pounding by the Panthers. Despite not having their full squad available, a better performance was expected. After a reasonably strong start, they were completely blown away as their opponents lifted in intensity and physicality. The result was made worse by the fact that they completed at 94%, but only managed 7.4m per carry, created just 2 line breaks, and missed 34 tackles. It was an uncharacteristic display and one which leaves many wondering if the dynasty of the Storm is coming to an end.
A few steps backward
After opening the season with 3 consecutive victories and leading the competition heading into Round 4, the Warriors have suffered two consecutive losses. Their most recent was a 36-22 road loss to the Sharks after trailing 24-10 at HT. Having several chances, the Warriors were ineffective when it mattered and couldn’t build enough pressure to score points. Despite having a 51% share of possession, they completed at just 76%, and had 3 line breaks. Their defensive effort was worse; they allowed 10.5m per carry, 9 line breaks, and missed 34 tackles. They look a vastly different version to the team which started the season and need to go back to basics to recapture their early season form.
Stats that matter
- The Storm have won the past 17 games against the Warriors. The last time the Warriors defeated the Storm was Round 18, 2015. It is no surprise that the Warriors have won just 3 of 15 matches here, with a 20% strike rate compared to the Storms 76%.
- The Warriors have performed better so far this season on both sides of the ball. They score 31ppg in attack and concede just 20ppg defensively. Uncharacteristically for the Storm, they score 29ppg in attack but have allowed 24ppg in defence.
- In the past 5 matches, the average margin of victory is 13.2 points, with 3 games decided by 12 points or less. The average total points in the same number of matches is 52.4 points, with just 1 game totalling below 52 points.
If the Storm do not win this, they are in deep trouble
With a lot more to play for given their recent form, a loss for the Storm would be unchartered territory for this club. Thankfully, they are boosted by the return of Howarth and Leo to their team; in equal measure, the Warriors are without Metcalf and Pompey. The record of the Storm against their opponents is likely to count for something, and they will be hoping the home ground advantage does too. The Warriors are a capable team. There were moments against the Sharks where, had things bounced their way, they might have won the contest. The other factors impacting this game is the ‘Penrith effect’; only one team this season (Roosters) has won the following week after playing the Panthers. Again, it would be surprising to see the Storm suffer another poor defeat. All things considered, play it safe in this game, picking your own line and allowing the Storm to find their groove again. If it were a matter of avoiding this game, other options are more appealing to invest on this weekend.

Same Game Multi: Storm vs Warriors
Leg 1 = Total points over 47.5 – see above for justification.
Leg 2 = Grant to score – the form of the Storm hooker has been dynamic this year. He has scored 3 tries already this season; he also has 3 tries in his past 5 games against the Warriors and a double in his past two matches at home.
Leg 3 = Meaney to score – he enjoys playing the Warriors, scoring 7 tries from his past 5 games against them. Despite not scoring in the past 4 matches, Meaney will relish the opportunity to take on the Warriors defensive line.
