St Kilda vs Hawthorn Prediction & Tips: 2025 AFL Round 17
Marshall Leads the Charge in Gritty Loss
The Saints sit in 15th place on the ladder with a 5-10 record, having lost six of their last seven games, the most recent of which a competitive 12 point loss to the Dockers. After kicking the first goal of the final term, the saints led by 14 points, but conceded the next four goals in a row to be edged out in Perth. The bright spot for the Saints once again was Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera, who racked up 28 touches and a goal across half back. Rowan Marshall was also superb going up against the Dockers ruck duo with 22 touches and 10 clearances. Both of those players signing on in the off-season will be high on the Saints priority list.
Three Straight and Flying: Hawks Hit Their Stride
The Hawks were on a three game losing streak which had them fighting for their place in the top eight. They have since gone onto win their last three in a row against the Dogs, Crows and Roos to move back up into 5th place on the ladder with a 10-5 record. They gave the Roos a 85 point drubbing down in Tasmania on the weekend as veteran Jack Gunston booted a career high seven goals. The Hawks have a great run coming up over the next month, with three of their next four games coming against teams outside 10th place.
Lewis Not Quite Ready for AFL Return
Hawks key forward Mitch Lewis returned via the VFL last weekend and will spend more time at the lower level before making an AFL return. Meanwhile, the Saints got through the game against Fremantle unscathed and despite their recent poor form, they now have one of the healthiest playing lists in the league. Bookends Max King and Dougal Howard remain on the sidelines, as does Mattaes Phillipou, but outside of those players, the Saints have a full complement to select from.
Saints vs Hawks? Here’s our St Kilda vs Hawthorn Tip
Outside of that tough 72 point loss to the Dogs a few weeks ago, who have always been a big bogey team for them, the Saints have been super competitive since the health of their playing list has started to cooperate in the back half of the year. They will be back under the roof on Saturday night, where they tend to perform best, and have a great record against the Hawks. They have won six of their last eight against Hawthorn, with those two losses coming by an average of just 7.5 points. Like the Saints to cover here.

St Kilda vs Hawthorn Player Prop Bet
Our Best Player Prop: Karl Amon 25+ Disposals
It’s been a common theme for us in Saints games throughout the year and we are sticking with it here. Roaming half backs rack up touches against St Kilda, and we collected with Jordan Clark having 31 last week. Amon had 33 last week against the Roos and has racked up 25+ in three of his last six.

Saints vs Hawks Same Game Multi
Mabior Chol 2+ Goals - Staying away from Gunston this week and opting for Mabior Chol instead. I think Gunston will get the unfortunate matchup of Cal Wilkie, but Chol should be able to get some opportunities with Anthony Caminiti playing on him. Chol has kicked 10 goals in his last three games.
Hunter Clark 15+ Disposals - Has been one of our favourite props since the midfielder returned to the Saints line-up from injury and I think it still continues to provide good value. Averaging 17.2 since returning and has had 15+ in 4/5 games.
Massimo D’Ambrosio 15+ Disposals - 15+ in eight of his last nine games, and his last five straight. 17 against the Saints last season.
