St Kilda vs GWS Prediction & Betting Tips: AFL 2026 Round 14

Marvel Stadium plays host to a crucial Round 14 clash on Sunday afternoon as two sides firmly in the finals hunt look to strengthen their September credentials.

St Kilda returns home after one of the more heartbreaking losses of the season, falling to Sydney after the siren at the SCG despite leading for much of the afternoon. GWS, meanwhile, arrives with plenty of momentum after consecutive victories over Brisbane and Melbourne, with the bye coming at an ideal time to freshen up a side that is finally getting healthy.

We bring you our full preview and expert tips for the Saints vs Giants clash below. And if you’re keen to back in our tips, consider doing so at Bet365 - one of the biggest and best sportsbooks in the world!

St Kilda vs GWS Prediction & Betting Tips: AFL 2026 Round 14

Saints Competitive But Unlucky

St Kilda's performance against Sydney may have ended in heartbreak, but it was arguably one of their most encouraging displays of the season.

The return of Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera transformed the Saints' ball movement, while Jack Sinclair continued his outstanding campaign with another 30-plus disposal performance. Liam Ryan was the standout up forward with five goals as the Saints led by as many as 33 points before eventually being run down in the dying stages.

Ross Lyon's side appears far more dangerous with Wanganeen-Milera back in the team, but injuries remain a concern. The loss of Sam Flanders for the season continues to hurt their midfield depth and they now face one of the hottest teams in the competition.

Giants Hitting Top Gear

After spending much of the season battling injuries, GWS finally looks close to full strength and the results are beginning to follow.

The Giants have won three of their last four matches and their victories over Brisbane and Melbourne showcased exactly how dangerous they can be when their midfield and pressure game are functioning at full capacity. Finn Callaghan, Clayton Oliver and Lachie Ash have been outstanding, while Toby Greene continues to terrorise opposition defences.

Perhaps most importantly, the cavalry is arriving. Jesse Hogan returns this week and several other key contributors are back available after lengthy injury interruptions. This is beginning to look much more like the Giants side many expected to contend before the season began.

Saints or Giants? Our Game Prediction

The Saints had a terrific win over GWS earlier this season, but context is important. At that stage, the Giants were dealing with arguably the longest injury list in the AFL and were struggling to field anything close to their best side.

That situation has changed dramatically. GWS has won three of its last four matches, including emphatic victories over Brisbane and Melbourne, and now welcomes back more key personnel. Their midfield is humming, their pressure game has returned and they appear to have rediscovered the brand of football that made them one of the competition's most dangerous teams.

St Kilda should be competitive at Marvel Stadium, but the Giants simply look stronger across the ground right now.

St Kilda vs GWS Prop Bet

Campbell Lake shapes as one of the more interesting value plays of the round. The mid-season draftee showed plenty on debut, displaying speed, composure and genuine forward-half creativity. Importantly, he has been named on the field rather than the extended bench this week, suggesting Ross Lyon already has significant trust in the youngster.

Playing predominantly as a forward, Lake won't need many opportunities to cash this ticket. At the current odds, Campbell Lake 1+ Goal looks a worthwhile play.

Lachie Ash 30+ Disposals | Lachie Whitfield 25+ Disposals | Jack Sinclair 25+ Disposals

The Saints continue to allow opposition half-backs plenty of uncontested possessions and that sets up perfectly for a pair of Giants accumulators. Lachie Ash 30+ Disposals looks particularly appealing after averaging 31.4 disposals this season and collecting 39 touches when these sides met earlier this year.

Lachie Whitfield 25+ Disposals also profiles strongly. The Giants star has recorded 34, 28 and 34 in his last three outings and should once again find plenty of uncontested ball through defensive transition.

The final leg is the ever-reliable Jack Sinclair 25+ Disposals. Sinclair has become one of the safest disposal plays in football, reaching the mark in 12 of his 13 games this season while continuing to orchestrate St Kilda's ball movement from half-back.
