Richmond vs Sydney Prediction & Tips: 2025 AFL Round 13
We’ll Fight & Fight & (Almost) Win
The Tigers are 3-9 on the season and sit in 16th place on the ladder. They have, however, been super competitive over the last month, winning against the Eagles before suffering three straight losses to North Melbourne, Essendon and GWS. They were in a position to win all three of those games, particularly last weekend against the Giants, where they led by as many as 34 points in the 3rd quarter. The veterans have been impressive for the Tigers, with Dion Prestia and Jacob Hopper combining for 60 touches in the midfield while Tim Taranto booted three goals in the narrow loss.
Bloods’ Running Cold
It looks as though Swans have never really been able to recover from the beatdown they suffered at the hands of the Lions in the Grand Final last year. They are 4-8 on the season so far and sit in 14th place on the ladder, having lost three of their last four games. Their loss to the Crows on the weekend was particularly worrying, going down by 90 points at home, their largest loss at the SCG since all the way back in the 1998 season. Now sitting a full three games outside of the top eight, they’ll need something miraculous to happen if they hope to make a late finals charge.
Balta Bolsters Richmond Defence
The Tigers will go in largely unchanged from the side that lost to the Giants last week, with the notable exception of key defender Noah Balta. The Tigers look a massively different side when Balta is in the line-up, and with the Swans forward line already lacking form at the moment, their job on Saturday just got even tougher. On the other side of the coin, the Swans will make five changes for the clash, with Sam Wicks, Callum Mills, Aaron Francis, Harry Cunningham and Tom Hanily all coming into the side.
Tigers or Swans? Here’s our Richmond vs Sydney Tip
The Swans have been in absolutely horrendous form of late but I really like them to bounce back here and cover a line that should realistically be a little higher than the 13.5 currently on offer. I think this is a classic case of ‘hungry dog runs faster’ and Sydney have far more to play for here. The five changes should also have a positive effect, particularly in the forward line, where they have really struggled over the last few weeks and the addition of Callum Mills in the midfield will be significant.

Richmond vs Sydney Player Prop Bet
Our Best Player Prop: Braeden Campbell 15+ Disposals
Has only averaged 8.5 disposals over the last two games but I think there is decent value for Campbell 15+ here, who reached that mark in seven of his previous eight games before the two games downswing. In his last three games against the Tigers, Campbell has racked up 20, 18 and 17 touches.

Richmond vs Sydney Same Game Multi
Sydney Swans H2H - There’s no doubt that the Tigers have been a much improved side over the last month, but I still think they are a tier below the majority of teams in the AFL and they don’t really have much incentive to win at the moment. The Swans should bounce back from an embarrassing defeat and win this one.
Jacob Hopper 20+ Disposals - Just an easy selection here. Has been one of the most consistent accumulators in the league this season, hitting the 20 disposal mark in all 12 of his games so far.
Nick Blakey 15+ Disposals - has had an inconsistent season and only had 11 touches in the Swans loss to the Crows. I think the Swans will make a concerted effort to get the ball in his hands this week, and we could even see him in the midfield at times in an attempt to give them a spark.
