Flemington Racing Tips: Saturday, June 7th 2025
Race 6: Asahi Super Dry BM78 1400m – 1:55pm (AEST)
(4) Thunderlips: 4YO gelding who has been superb in his last two runs. Won over this trip/grade two back lugging 60kg and then finished second last start over this trip/grade on the heavy deck. Gets in nicely once more with Roper claiming 2kg. Strips fitter and relishes on the wet track. Value of the race.
(6) Oh Diamond Lil: Honest 4YO Mare who has been kind to us on several occasions where we have tipped her. She boasts a terrific record and her win first up was solid. She can handle the wet track and gets a lovely draw for this. Jay Ford jumps in for the first time, but he isn’t the worst. Proven winner over 1400m and when second up. Have to be on again.
(14) Federer: Resuming 4YO who looked to be quite the talent in her first campaign. Won by 3.5L on debut and then by 6L for her second start. Started as a $1.55 favourite in her third start, but failed to fire and ended up being tipped out for a spell. Has trialled okay leading in and im sure she will have plenty of followers off that debut campaign.
(6) Oh Diamond Lil
$3.80 (2 units)
Race 8: Vinery Stud Bob Charley Ao Stakes 1100m – 3:05pm (AEST)
(1) Brudenell: 5YO Gelding who has been very consistent all preparation and continues to run well. He has a fantastic record over this track and trip. Draws wide, but must be respected and wouldn’t leave out of the exotics.
(2) Front Page: 8YO gelding who is a classy sprinter and was only beaten by Private Harry first up over 1100m. Tackled the Quokka second up and faded late which was concerning. Gets back to Sydney now and back to 1100m. Will need to work early if he is to pinch the lead and try dictate. The early market support has been strong seeing him $7 into $4. This is probably his easiest affair in sometime, but will need to produce a similar run to his first up effort to win here.
(4) In Flight: Talented 4YO mare with a terrific CV and she is flying this preparation. She has notched up two strong second placings before delivering a dominant win at Doomben last start, putting almost two lengths on them in classy fashion on the weather effected track. She’s a genuine wet-tracker, and if the rain arrives and the track stays in the heavy range, she immediately becomes the one they all have to beat. Fourth-up now and rock-hard fit, she’s perfectly placed to go back-to-back. From the draw, she maps to get a similar run to last start, settling just off the speed before launching late. Everything aligns here—form, fitness, conditions, and confidence. If she handles the track as expected, she looks the best bet on the card.
(4) In Flight
$4.00 (1.5 unit)
Race 9: Singapore Pools BM94 1300m - 3:40pm (AEST)
(2) Whinchat: 5YO Gelding who was only nutted out of it by The Instructor when resuming which is a handy form line leading into this. Strips fitter now and handles the wet track nicely. If he can get a nice position throughout from the wide draw, he will be launching late. Major player.
(5) Pereille: 5YO Gelding who mixes form, but will generally run a nice race and cannot be left out. He has a lovely second up record and does his best work on the weather effected deck. Another one who needs some luck from the wide draw, but Lloyd for Cummings is a dangerous combo. Value.
(11) Headley Grange: 4YO gelding who had a sensational campaign last time out with his last five runs finishing in the quinella. He goes well first up and over this trip. Hyeronimus steers who is 2 from 2 which boosts confidence. Draws well and looks to be a major player here.
(11) Headley Grange E/W
$7.00/$2.50 (1u / 2u e/w)
