Adió Chula vs SADBOYS.AU
Thursday, 6pm AEST
Adió Chula and SADBOYS.AU will meet in the Oceanic Esports League upper bracket finals, where one of the two will earn a pass into the Grand Finals, while the other will get another shot at making it to the big stage in the lower bracket.
Adió Chula have entered the playoffs of Oceanic Esports League after narrowly securing a top-four finish, however they soon proved they mean business with their impressive 2-0 win over Flashpoint Gaming in the first round of the playoffs. SADBOYS.AU, on the other side, finished the group stage at the third-place and later defeated Sincerely Fury in a rather dramatic fashion. In game three between Sincerely Fury and SADBOYS.AU, Sincerely Fury called out GG, and while SADBOYS.AU's throne fell, they ended up picking up a win.
Adió Chula and SADBOYS.AU met twice throughout the group stage, with each match ending in a stalemate (1-1). Adió Chula looked very solid in the latter stages of the competition and in their opening match of the playoffs, but so did SADBOYS.AU, who picked up wins against Sincerely Fury, Flashpoint Gaming and Spag and Sons. There is not a lot to separate these two teams, and since both of their meetings were very close, it's safe to expect this one will be no different.
Flashpoint Gaming vs Sincerely Fury
Thursday 9pm AEST
Flashpoint Gaming have struggled to deliver in the final week of Oceanic Esports League and even suffered a shock loss to Adió Chula in the opening round of the playoffs, however, TEKCOR's team has seemingly found their stride as of late. In round one of the Lower Bracket, Flashpoint outperformed Burger Flippers with a very convincing performance, which helped them re-establish themselves as serious contenders for the title.
Sincerely Fury, on the other side suffered a somewhat controversial loss against SADBOYS.AU in round one of the Upper Bracket, but showed up against Sweaty Soldiers, in what proved to be one of the most one-sided affairs of the tournament. How much does that win mean is up for debate but it's fair to assume Sincerely Fury are entering this match with a massive morale boost.
Sincerely Fury and Flashpoint Gaming faced off twice in the group stage. The first match ended with a 2-0 win for Flashpoint, while the second clash that was played in the fourth week of the competition ended in a close draw. Although Sincerely Fury managed to stand up against Flashpoint Gaming in their last meeting, Flashpoint looked way too good on Wednesday for me to believe they will struggle here.
