NRL Daily Fantast Lineup Tips: State of Origin Game 3

Maroons vs Blues: Our Value Fantasy Picks

Max King ($9,030) wasn’t quite as good in game 2, but none of the Blues forwards were. The wet conditions really slowed down the big Blues forwards, and they struggled to get anything going compared to game 1, where they dominated through the middle. With no rain expected over the coming days, conditions should be fine for the Blues forwards to roll forward. As such, I expect King to be looking more like he did in Game 1, where he scored 37.6 points. His minutes were well down in game 2 also, which I’m a little concerned by, but I believe this was more down to the Blues chasing the game. If the Blues are in control, as is expected, King should play solid minutes and get through plenty of work.

Zac Lomax ($10,230) will be looking to bounce back from his game 2 showing, where he struggled alongside his Blues’ teammates. With the Blues expected to bounce back, I love the value here on Lomax. Able to score points in several different ways, Lomax has the highest ceiling among all the outside backs in Game 3 in my opinion. Surely, he can’t kick as badly as he did in Game 2, and I fully expect him to retain the goal kicking duties with Cleary still injured. That’s a nice little bump on his floor, and I can’t see any reason to leave Lomax out of your squads here.

Maroons vs Blues: Our Mid Price Fantasy Picks

Dylan Edwards (12,050) was another that struggled in Game 2, and another that has dropped in price as a result. Edwards has shown that he probably isn’t going to score you enough points if the Blues lose, so if you believe the Maroons are going to take the series here, Edwards may not be the best selection. I do, however, believe the Blues will bounce back in Game 3 and get the win, and love Edwards to be a big part of that. Scored a try and set another up in Game 1, showing that if he can get ball inside the redzone, that he can dominate this Maroons defence. Always nice to have one or two of the current or former Panthers in your squad, as it is obvious when you watch the Blues that these players enjoy linking up together, and we will see it again here in the big game.

Kurt Capewell ($11,660) has jumped up in price, after his tremendous performance in Game 2, however I still believe Capewell is a great purchase at price. We talked him up in Game 2, and he repaid the faith, scoring 63.7 points, which was the second most of any player. 37 tackles and 107 running metres was backed up by 4 tackle breaks and at try / line break combo, in a terrific 80-minute performance. A floor of around 40 at price is solid, and Capewell seems to have that ability to pop up at the right place, at the right time. Play with confidence.

Maroons vs Blues: Our Premium Fantasy Picks

Payne Haas ($19,120) just keeps dominating in the middle and is as close to a sure thing as anyone in this game. Punching out scores of 60.6 and 57.2, Haas has basically scored one point per minute during the Origin series, and pending any injury or sin bin, you can almost guarantee a floor of 55 for Haas. Throw in a try or another attacking stat, and you could well be looking at 80+ for Haas, in a score that will have you right in there with the money makers. One player you don’t need to consider the game state, just get him in and enjoy your 60-ish points.

Angus Chrichton ($15,630) was one of the best for the Blues in Game 2, and I expect this to continue in the decider. Crichton is made for Origin and is another player like Haas that will get his points win, lose, or draw. I can see a man of the match performance coming from Chrichton in Game 3 and believe he will score at least one try in the decider. A solid 45-point floor with base and base power stats, if Crichton can again bang out some attacking stats there’s every chance, he could be the highest scorer in the game. I’m backing him in and will probably have a couple of cheeky bets on Gus scoring a try and winning man of the match in this one.
