2019-20 NBA Betting Tips: Thursday 12th March

March 11th 2020, 2:33pm, By: Jake Smit

Welcome to our NBA preview and betting tips for Thursday, 12th of March. We had a tough time on Tuesday with only 1 of 3 plays getting up. You know it’s not your day when you have the Hornets +4.5 and they lose by 5 in double OT. Regardless, we’re back in action on Thursday and are confident we can get back to winning ways. Check out our preview and betting tips for the slate below and good luck to everyone following!

NBA Betting Tips Thursday March 12th

Denver Nuggets @ Dallas Mavericks

11:10am AEDT

The Nuggets were gifted an easy kill when Milwaukee decided to rest all of their starting five in their recent clash in Denver. The Nuggets obliged and ran home 14 point winners to improve their season record to 43-21 and solidify third spot in the West. The Nuggets now head on a three game road trip where they’ve been pretty solid this season (18-13).

The Mavericks have been one of the great improvers this season and are destined for greatness in future seasons. They’re a little young to compete in the business end of the playoffs at the moment, but they’ve prove to be a pretty consistent team on their way to a 39-27 regular season record to date. Last time out the Mavs were 10 point losers in San Antonio, which made it back to back losses.

Both of these clubs are competitive on a night to night basis for the most part and either could win this matchup on their day. In saying that, the Mavs have the advantage of home court in this particular game, which we believe will be the difference.

Dallas Mavericks -1.5

Utah Jazz @ OKC Thunder

11:10am AEDT

The Jazz continue to be one of the most frustrating teams in the NBA. You never quite know what you’re going to get from them and their recent form has been quite baffling. Jazz have won just one of their past six home games, but have won four straight on the road – go figure. Last time out they were beaten at home by the Raptors, which took their season record to 41-23.

The Thunder have been another greatly surprising team this season and are starting to build some great momentum in the final portion of the regular season. They recorded a terrific one point in on the road against the Celtics last start, which was their third win on the spin. This form has seen them jump into fifth spot in the West (40-24), one spot above the Rockets.

Here, we have one of the most inconsistent teams in the league against probably the most honest team in the league. You always know what you’re going to get from the Chris Paul led Thunder, and if they continue to play the way they have in this recent winning run, then we see them being too good for the Jazz over 48 minutes.

OKC Thunder -2.5

$1.90

New Orleans Pelicans @ Sacramento Kings

1:40pm AEDT

The Pelicans have been must watch TV since Zion Williamson stepped on the court and they’ve also been a far more competitive unit too. They were very impressive winners two games back against the Heat and were able to back it up last start against the Timberwolves with a 13 point victory. Strong recent form has seen the Pelicans improve their record to 28-36, which is good enough for ninth spot in the West.

The Kings have also been in some much better form in recent weeks, although they were unable to get the chocolates last time out against the Raptors. They were in the contest right up until the final possession, but eventually went down by five points in a loss that could prove very costly for their playoff hopes. The Kings remain in 10th spot in the West and one win behind the Pelicans.

Both of these teams are in the race for the eighth and final playoff spot in the West, which means this is a crucial game for both clubs. For us, we believe the Pelicans are the slightly better team and have greater upside in big moments, so we’re happy to be on them in this even money matchup.
