RACE 2
The Kraken joins the Andrew De Campo stable after racing well for Nathan Turvey in 3YO company. First starter All The Bells has barrier one and I don’t know if The Kraken will be able to cross or if that filly will be driven with a sit. No trial vision doesn’t help punters but we make-do with what we have. The Kraken was second behind Bitcoin and beat home Theo Aviator two starts ago at Bunbury in 1:54.4. He was then last of five runners behind Patrickthepiranha. If The Kraken can lead he will take some beating but could still be dangerous with cover close to the speed.
RACE 4
War Club and Harry Goodmate look the best chances in the race. It’s tough to split them from their draws and I don’t perceive there to be too much value in either runner. Star Boss interests me because he is the best closer in the race. Barrier 10 isn’t ideal but he is very consistent running home in sub-57 seconds almost every start. The other horse that interests me here is American Rock. Trained by Eugene Harris, driver Kyle Harper will steer and the last time that happened saw a Harris runner go career-best. It isn’t an exaggeration either to say Harper could find five or so lengths from this horse and he will get a good run behind War Club. Back both and hope one of them can run down the two favourites.

RACE 6
The standing-start event sees seven runners begin off handicaps between 20m-60m. Ruling Gold comes off the 30m handicap which looks good because he normally steps quickly with Chris Lewis driving. He is fresh from a spell but does boast good stand credentials with three wins and three minor placings from 11 attempts. His last win saw him defeat Tas Man Bromac and Major Rush which is winnable form for a country stand like this. Attack On Command is one of the most improved horses and will be a huge danger.
