The local horse racing schedule is kicking it up a notch as we enter the Autumn Racing Carnival season where we’ll see some quality horses return and a fantastic array of Group 1 races around the country.
Blue Diamond Stakes (Caulfield, Race 7)
This race has been setup as a race between two as Earthquake ($4.00 on Betfair) and Rubick ($3.25 on Betfair) go head to head. Both horses have produced similar preparations, even running the same time in the Preludes. Earthquake was arguably more eye-catching, accelerating off a slower speed, while Rubick hung on doggedly to lead all the way in a fast tempo. Earthquake led the early betting but after drawing barrier 15, the favouritism shifted to Rubick in the middle barrier 10. They will have to work to get to the front which may create opportunities, but it’s hard to see the winner coming from outside of these two. It’s hard to split them, so we’re going to take the extra value with Earthquake.
