Race 7: Myplates Tramway Stakes – GROUP 2 – 1400m - 3:20pm (AEST)
(1) Headley Grange: 6YO gelding returns from a 12-week spell following a breakout campaign where he secured a well-deserved maiden Group 1 victory in the Kingsford Smith Cup (1300m). On that occasion, he showed brilliant tactical versatility, recovering from a long bumping duel and an inside pocket to explode through a late gap with authority. While he ended his preparation unplaced on a testing Heavy track over 1400m, his late sectionals were sound under the circumstances. Prepared for his return with two sharp trials, he looks beautifully placed on Saturday. He boasts an elite fresh record (5: 3-1-0), relishes the damp Randwick surface, and has drawn perfectly to secure an economical run in transit. If he returns near his peak, his Group 1 credentials make him the one to beat.
(5) Private Eye: 9YO Veteran who continues to race well. Second behind Cosmic Crusader last start who has returned in stella fashion, so form line is sound. Under set weights he gets in nicely and has already been spec’d in the early market. Worth thought.
(7) Idle Flyer: 5YO Mare who was dominant last campaign when closing things out with a strong Group 2 win over 1500m and then buttering up with an impressive Group 1 win over the mile at this track. Resumed soundly last start over 1400m and was hitting the line nicely but never going to match Autumn Glow / Sheza Alibi there. Is unbeaten second up from 4 attempts, handles the going and Zac Lloyd is 7 from 8 when on top. Major player.

Race 8: Catanachs Jewellers Concorde Stakes - GROUP 2 - 1000m- 3:55pm (AEST)
(1) Headwall: 7YO gelding who had almost been forgotten by a few after having a 12 month hiatus and before that only had the one run which was winning this exact race. He has trialled very well on four occasions leading into this and the stable opted to miss the Group 1 Moir Stakes and have targeted this race which gives punters a small push. Talented sprinter and flies fresh. With the price differential, happy to be on.
(4) Tempted: 4YO Mare who is clearly the top pick as she oozes class and is a proven Group 1 winner. Unbeaten on the soft track and when resuming. Loves the track and Chad is yet to miss when on top. The one they all have to beat, but happy to look elsewhere with the current quote.
(8) Kings Secret: Roughie of the field who looks to get the map of the race and he looks to still have upside to come. Goes well fresh and handles the soft deck. Blow out hope.
(1) Headwall WIN

Race 9: Asahi Super Dry Chelmsford Stakes – GROUP 2 -1600m - 4:35pm (AEST)
(1) Ceolwulf: 6YO gelding who returns second-up following a highly encouraging resumption in the Group 1 Winx Stakes, where he settled off midfield and found the line strongly out wide. He takes immense benefit from that outing and looks perfectly placed stepping up to the 1600m. From barrier 8, he should secure a lovely midfield trail with cover. Provided they roll along at a genuine tempo, he will get the perfect opportunity to build momentum and unleash his powerful late burst. His peak figures are comfortably good enough to win this, and he stands out as a primary threat with that first-up run under his belt. Very happy to side with him.
(7) Green Spaces: 4YO Who is likely targeting the Melbourne Cup and will probably need further, but if Rachel King can roll forward with him and utilise his tactical stamina he may be able to hold them off at a nice price.
(9) Fangirl: 8YO Mare who is a multiple group 1 winner but is nearing the end of her career. However, she can still run a race on her day and must be considered here. Especially after withdrawing from the tramway to tackle this race over the mile. J-Mac gets back into the saddle and with weight for age conditions her class may be enough to get herself back onto the winners list. Will be running on.
