There are five Australian horse racing meetings on Wednesday’s midweek racing schedule. Our target meetings will be the higher quality ones at Canterbury, Sandown-Hillside and Pinjarra. Check out our best bets for the day below and good luck to everyone following along!

Canterbury Racing Tips: Wednesday, July 22nd 2026
Race 1: Asahi Super Dry Handicap 1100m – 12:50pm AEST
(3) The Little General resumed with a nail-biting victory at Hawkesbury when leading throughout to repel Oakfield Duke on the line. From the inside gate, Zac Wadick will be trying the same tactics again, although there is some speed outside. This doesn’t look any harder than last time, so the gelding should be fighting out the finish.
(5) Raksol has raced four times this prep and she is still trying to notch her second career win. She is ticking along okay and looks to have each-way claims in the race.
(6) Olivia Twist won back-to-back races before having a spell. The filly has trialled twice in preparation for this. She may need the run but should improve off whatever she does here.
(3) The Little General WIN
$4.00 (1.5 Units)
Race 4: Tropicus @ Vinery Stud Handicap 1900m – 2:35pm AEST
(7) All Star is a three-year-old colt that has taken a while to put it altogether. He only broke his maiden three runs back and followed that up with a win at Kembla Grange over 1400m. Over the mile last start at Warwick Farm, he settled last and cut to the inside when running past several runners for fifth place. He does jump up 300m in distance which is the query, but if he handles the trip, he should be hard to beat.
(2) Allegro Miss won over 1850m two starts ago before finishing third at her most recent outing over this 1900m distance. It was a really good run and she will appreciate the smaller field this time around.
(6) Velaris beat Allegro Miss back in May over track and distance. He raced against harder opposition last start when racing wide without cover but still managed to battle on gamely in the home straight. Has each-way claims in this race.
(7) All Star WIN
$3.50 (2 Units)
Sandown-Hillside Racing Tips: Wednesday, July 22nd 2026
Race 8: Sportsbet Fixed Odds Exotics Handicap 1400m – 4:30pm AEST
(3) Join The Que has put back-to-back victories on the board for Team Hayes and there appears no reason why he can’t make it a hat-trick. Gate 14 probably isn’t ideal but the gelding did win from barrier 10 at Swan Hill two runs ago. Jockey Michael Dee may press forward hoping to slot in somewhere. Due to the gate, I think we are getting a better price.
(14) Jenni Multabella was placed at her first-up run and she will appreciate the extra step up in distance here. With the lightest weight of 54.5kg, she should be able to finish strongly from the second half of the field.
(11) Zunna was runner up behind unbeaten mare Tennessee Bound last start and that form line is certainly a good one for this sort of race. She has won three from eight and has strong claims here.
(3) Join The Que WIN
$5.50 (1 Unit)
Pinjarra Scarpside: Racing Tips: Wednesday, July 22nd 2026
Race 2: Electrical Consultancy WA Maiden 1700m – 1:04pm (3:04pm AEST)
(4) Dirty Habits has been placed at his past two starts and quickly jumps from 1300m to 1700m. In addition to that, William Pike jumps aboard for the first time and the gelding looks like he wants to run further. He may not find a more suitable assignment than this one.
(10) Bangalong has also been placed at her last two starts, although both of those over the mile, so the trip will not bother her at all. The wide gate will likely see her near the tail of the field. She has each-way claims in the race.
(5) Mercury Rising was placed two runs back before finishing midfield when tackling the 1700m distance. Looks a blowout hope.
(4) Dirty Habits WIN
$1.70 (3 Units)
