Caulfield will host metropolitan racing at Melbourne on Saturday and the Group 3 Sir John Monash Stakes highlights the card. After a chilly week in Melbourne the track is predicted to be rated a Soft 7. Race one of nine gets underway at 12:05pm (AEST). Winnasedge for Nick Ryan is the current 6-1 favourite in the Monash in what is a wide open affair. Beast Mode is the likely leader and Bazaball Rewarded, who has had an excellent campaign, has to step up again.

Caulfield Heath Racing Tips: Saturday, July 11th 2026
Race 3: Sportsbet Jockeywatch Handicap 1400m - 1:10pm (AEST)
(5) Cruiserweight is a former New Zealander who is unbeaten and has trialled up well. Before that trial he was midfield and then run on very nicely for Will Gordon at Swan Hill. Obviously up in class here but has Craig Williams on and the extra distance looks as though it will suit him.
(1) Like A Drifter goes up to 1400m again and has placed over this distance previously. Has won 5 of 8 races and has won at odds on his last couple in Adelaide.
(2) Davida is over the odds at 12-1 after she led all of the way to win last start at Morphettville. Barrier 12 is the worry but the 1400m is the positive.
(5) Cruiserweight WIN

Race 5: Sportsbet Blackbook Handicap 2000m - 2:20pm (AEST)
(12) Amleto ticks a lot of boxes here. He has a good draw (5), a good jockey (Willow) and this is currently his favourite distance. At Caulfield on June 27 he tried his luck over this distance for the first time and wasn’t disgraced when 3rd. Cairon Maher trained horses can improve sharply at their next try over the same distance so he gets the nod here.
(2) Sir Atlas has to give these a fair bit of weight which is the concern. He is probably the best horse in the race but he has to carry 60kg and he may go better on the Dry.
(10) Belle Savoir defeated Amleto last start at Caulfield and she did have a gun run from barrier 1 on that occasion. Gets barrier 9 this time so will have to do more work in the run. Gets a preferred Soft track though.
(12) Amleto WIN
$3.00 (2 units)
Race 6: Sportsbet Feed Handicap 2000m - 3pm (AEST)
(1) Decalogue has Jabz Johnstone on top who is an apprentice jockey so punters will appreciate a 3kg claim for this one. Last start the pair saluted at Flemington over the same distance and he did win by 2.25L with some more to offer. He usually settles on pace and from barrier 6 he should be able to sit outside the leader in this one or in the”one-one”. Wet tracks look to be his go and the fit three-year-old should be able to notch up another win before the good horses start to come back.
(3) Our Chief led Decalogue last start but finished 2nd but not disgraced. He wasn’t as fit as the above on that occasion but with having his 4th run in this prep he is a strong Place chance.
(7) Paddypie has had 3 starts on the Soft for 3 times in the money. Might settle a pair behind the top 2 but does run on pretty well. Was specked in betting last week but was scratched on raceday. Has drawn the inside and the stable is in form.
(1) Decalogue WIN
$2.50 (2.5 units)
