Carlton and St Kilda meet in a fascinating Sunday clash at Marvel Stadium with both sides entering under pressure for very different reasons. The Blues sit at 1-6 and are desperately trying to keep their season alive, while the Saints have a chance to push back toward an even record after last week’s demolition of West Coast.
We bring you our full preview and expert tips for the Blues vs Saints below, with odds thanks to Dabble!

Carlton vs St Kilda Prediction & Betting Tips: AFL 2026 Round 8
Blues Better Than Record Suggests
Carlton’s 1-6 start looks grim on paper, but the Blues have consistently shown more fight than that number suggests. Last week against Fremantle they were outplayed for stretches but still rallied late, kicking five of the final six goals to cut the margin to 14 points in Perth. It was another reminder that while the wins have not come, this side is far from rolling over.
Patrick Cripps and Sam Walsh continue to carry the midfield load, combining for 63 disposals against the Dockers, while the returns of Harry McKay, Adam Saad and Marc Pittonet provide a significant boost structurally. The issue remains consistency around the ground, particularly defensively when momentum swings against them.
Saints Searching for Proof of Concept
St Kilda’s 143-point explosion against West Coast was their best attacking display in years, but the obvious caveat is that it came against a side currently functioning like a charity for opposition forwards. Still, the Saints can only beat what is in front of them, and the confidence gained from finally seeing their forward line click could be significant.
Jack Higgins kicked five, Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera continued his scorching run of form with 34 disposals, and the Saints looked far more dynamic ball in hand than they have for much of the season. If that offensive confidence carries over, they have enough weapons to trouble Carlton’s defence.
What to Expect? Here’s our Best Bet!
I’m backing the Saints to build on last week’s momentum and make it back-to-back wins. Yes, West Coast are a bottom-tier opponent, but sometimes a breakout offensive performance is exactly what a side needs to find belief. St Kilda have looked more confident with ball in hand in recent weeks and appear to be gradually ironing out some of their scoring issues.
Carlton are competitive, but they continue to have lapses that cost them against quality opposition, and St Kilda’s confidence should be sky high after last week. Expect the Blues to hang around for periods, but the Saints’ improved ball movement and growing midfield depth should eventually separate them.

Carlton vs St Kilda Prop Bet
Carroll looked outstanding last week against West Coast, finishing with 24 disposals and using the ball beautifully across half-back. His kicking stood out enough that it feels like St Kilda may have found a genuine distributor in that role, potentially freeing Jack Sinclair for more midfield time. If that role sticks, 20+ looks very achievable again.

Western Bulldogs vs Fremantle Same Game Multi
Nasiah Wanganeen Milera 25+ Disposals - He is absolutely humming right now with 27, 29, 28, 28 and 34 in his last five. Opposition attention has increased and it has not mattered.
Sam Walsh 25+ Disposals - Looks back to his ball-winning best with 29, 28 and 32 in his last three games. Carlton rely heavily on his accumulation and he should find enough of it here.
Bradley Hill 20+ Disposals: Has cleared 20 in five straight games and is coming off 29 last week. His work rate and outside run remain critical to St Kilda’s transition game.
