2025 AFLW Finals Week 3 Betting Tips
North Melbourne vs Melbourne
Saturday 3:05pm AEDT, IKON Park
The AFLW Preliminary Final presents a colossal mismatch on paper as the North Melbourne Kangaroos host the Melbourne Demons in a Grand Final qualifier. The Kangaroos are riding a wave of historic dominance, having remained undefeated for the past two seasons and proving to be the competition's undisputed benchmark.
Fresh off a week's rest, the Roos were devastating in their Qualifying Final, holding Hawthorn goalless while cruising to a 39-point victory. This follows on from their last meeting with the Demons in 2024, a 50-point demolition that highlights the gulf between the sides. Led by their star-studded midfield and impenetrable defence, North Melbourne is simply the best team by a mile.
Melbourne, who finished second, has taken the long road to this stage. A Qualifying Final loss to the Lions was quickly corrected by a gritty 11-point Semi-Final win against the Crows. While Kate Hore and the Demons have shown character to rebound, taking on the all-conquering Roos is a monumental step up.
Given North Melbourne’s season-long form, their week off, and their ability to dismantle rivals, a comfortable victory seems inevitable. All signs point towards the Kangaroos covering the -29.5 spread and marching into the Grand Final.
North Melbourne –29.5

Brisbane vs Carlton
Saturday 7:35pm AEDT, Brighton Homes Arena
The Second AFLW Preliminary Final features a fascinating clash of finals experience versus surging momentum as the Brisbane Lions host the Carlton Blues at Brighton Homes Arena.
The Lions, finishing third, secured their home Preliminary Final with a clinical Qualifying Final victory over the Demons. They are a true finals behemoth, consistently posing a premiership threat and featuring in their sixth consecutive preliminary final. They bring a rested, full-strength squad and an intimate knowledge of their home turf.
However, the fifth-placed Blues are peaking spectacularly. They have ripped through the first two weeks of finals, dismantling the Eagles and then humiliating the Hawks with dominant wins of 41 and 46 points respectively. Carlton’s dynamic, attacking football, led by the McKay sisters and the effervescent Mimi Hill, has set the competition alight.
Crucially, the Blues hold the psychological advantage from their last meeting at this very venue in Round 3, where they pulled off a significant 14-point upset over the Lions. While Brisbane’s history and consistency rightfully make them the favourites, Carlton’s red-hot form and proven ability to conquer the Lions in Queensland make them a serious chance. Expect a fierce contest, with the hungry Blues covering the +13.5 spread.
Carlton +13.5
