Sandown Racing Tips: Saturday, September 27th 2025
Race 2: Ive Handicap 1800m - 12:45pm (AEST)
(1) Al Duca has drawn wide in 11 but this horse is a winner having already won 5 from 13 starts. His last 2 races he has saluted in close finishes and his early speed should see him able to cross from the wide draw. Zahra stays on and he has already won 3 times on top and we are getting a Dry track which is to the geldings liking.
(5) Farh Flung has drawn well in barrier 2 and should get a cushy run in this race. He was wide when 3rd at Caulfield last start and he should get cover in this race. Very consistent, has placed twice at this track previously and he should be placing again.
(8) Makdane wants a Soft track but if he runs he could lead this field for a long way.
(1) Al Duca Each-Way
$4.60$1.80 (1U/2U)
Race 3: Sportsbet Feed Handicap 1000m - 1:20pm (AEST)
(4) Aleppo Pine is a good each-way chance on the back of his quality efforts in the Autumn. He has changed stables since and he ran pretty well for 4th at The Valley when he didn’t have much luck on August 23 after he was pressured to run too fast too early.. He has been freshened at trialled since so he is fit enough. May lead this field for a long way.
(2) Sonofkirk will find this race esier than this latest Group 3 assignments but he needs to get out of the barriers better. Gets the blinkers on and if they go hard in front he can win.
(6) Odessa will go forward in this race but is naught from 2 on Good tracks which is a worry. She won as a $1.50 fav at Ballarat last start and confidence will be high.
(4) Aleppo Pine Each-Way
$7.00/$2.20 (1 unit)
Race 4: Evergreen Turf Handicap 1400m - 1:55pm (AEST)
(1) King Zephyr was 3rd and wide when backed in for fortune last start at The Valley. That was on suitable Dry ground as is this race and he should appreciate a longer straight here. He is fitter and is undefeated at Hillside and I think the stable will be keen to make amends to the luckless run last start.
(3) Raikoke is the likely leader and did win at Hillside last start after leading all of the way. Stays at the 1400m and I think the above 2 should quinella this one. Gets preferable Dry ground again which is a positive.
(6) Sassy Boom hasn’t won in a while but will go forward early and should give a good sight. A Dry track helps as does barrier 3 so she should be able to run alongside Raikoke for a long way. Likes the 1400m but is seeing Hillside for the first time.
(1) King Zephyr WIN
$2.30 (4 units)
