Race 3: Sportsbet Green Tick Handicap 1000m - 2:20pm (AEST)
(4) Point Barrow has drawn well in barrier 3 and should get a comfortable sit in this event. Dan Stackhouse stays on after winning on top at Bendigo last start over 1100m when starting a short priced favourite and I think the Freedman stable might have a race picked out for her on a sunny Spring Saturday in a few weeks time. From barrier 2 last start she settled midfield and from a similar barrier again I think Stacky will use the same tactics.
(5) Meisho was a 2L Warracknabeel winner last start after settling on speed and despite this being harder she has to be considered if they go slow up front. Gets a senior jock in Mark Zahra for this.
(5) Amping Lass is 1 from 1 on a Good track and is first up. When first up last time she won easily at Cranbourne and she is one which will also go and settle in the top 3. Luke Nolen is on and gets a horse who isn't too fresh after recent jumpouts.
(4) Point Barrow WIN
$4.00 (1 Unit)
Race 6: Stow Storage Solutions Handicap - 1300m - 4:05pm (AEST)
(10) Kirribilli has raced well in harder races than this and she was only beaten 2.5L at Caulfield in the Kev Hayes (Group 3) at her latest outing. She has since spelled and she has trialled up well at Traralgon. The Moody&Coleman trained mare will be eyeing off something harder in a few weeks and this race looks a good start. Interestingly the stable has opted to start her off at 1300m so it looks like she may be tried at a mile or further during this prep.
(13) Here The Crowd likes Dry tracks and she gets that again here. She is consistent and usually settles on speed so at double figure odds she is worth some consideration here.
(9) Entrusting is resuming and has drawn wide (14). That draw hinders her winning chances but she does have the ability to run on in her races so I think Zahra will ease her back in the first 100m.
(10) Kirribilli WIN
$4.60 (1 Unit)
Race 8: Sportsbet Race Multi Handicap - 1400m - 5:15pm (AEST)
(2) La Ferrari is big odds but is worth a small play in the last. Hayes trains and Coffey rides, and the Tornado gelding does have pretty good credentials for a mid week race. He loves Good tracks which he gets and he has won 5 races over the 1400m. His first up record is poor though, hence the $11.00 we are getting. But a small play might end the day wel!
(8) Eye Of The Eagle has drawn inside and gets a favourable Good track. Jamie Mott knows him very well and has won on top on 3 occasions. Forget his Caulfield run 2 starts back when he was wide (8th) and then last start he got too far back at Lakeside (11th). Big odds because of this. Place bet.
(13) Our Couver likes the Dry as well and is a chance with only 54.5kg. Placed with the same weight at Ballarat last start.
(2) La Ferrari WIN
$11 (0.5 Units)
