Canterbury Park Racing Tips: Wednesday, September 10th 2025
Race 2: The Agency Real Estate Mdn Hcp 1550m - 2:10pm (AEST)
(3) Officiate: 3YO Colt who returned nicely on the heavy deck over 1250m where he just kept coming and hit the line intently to only narrowly miss. Expecting improvement again and with the rise in trip he looks a great bet. J-Mac on for Waller boosting confidence. Top hope.
(6) Sigma: 3YO Colt who has been genuine in his four career runs and has finished second on two occasions thus far. Close to breaking maiden and has to be considered. Sticky gate the only concern.
(7) Koibito: 3YO Filly who was terrific on debut in open grade finishing only 2L off the winner. Second up run finished second, but found one better. Continues to improve and will have followers here.
(3) Officiate Win
$3.50 (2 Units)
Race 4: Hyland Race Colours BM72 1900m - 3:20pm (AEST)
(1) The Years: 5YO Gelding who won two in a row in this class including a win over this trip two back. Sound in defeat most recently in the heavy conditions. Gets onto a better surface, but his record shows he probably prefers it a touch wet with all career wins coming from soft or worse. Rock hard fit and gets a nice draw. Consider, but 62kg is a big weight.
(4) In Summer: 5YO Mare who we have been bullish on last two starts and she has ran accordingly with a win and a second. Continues to race well. Rates nicely for this and with the 2kg claim she has to be a main hope. Hard fit and racing in career best form. Each way.
(8) Luskaire: Dominant winner last start over the mile where they went to the front and then kicked to score by 2L. Appreciate this is tougher, but has continued to improve and is rock hard fit. 1900m looks ideal now. J-Mac gets into the saddle for the first time which will fancy the punters. Top chance.
(4) In Summer E/W
$8.00/$2.50 (1U/2U)
Race 6: Tab BM72 1250m – 4:30pm (AEST)
(2) Modella: Resuming 4YO Mare who was excellent in her first three starts last campaign. She looks to be a fresh horse and will only have benefitted from that first campaign. Has trialled twice leading into this and her sole win came on the good deck which she gets here. Goes well.
(3) Mergeila: 4YO Mare who we have tipped the last two starts, but has been scratched. This suggests that they are waiting for the perfect conditions and are seeking an easy kill potentially. She was terrific in her first campaign and has shown ability. Winner at this track and with J-Mac for Waller she will once again be top pick.
(6) Akaysha: 3YO Filly who looks to be the best rated horse in this field and she was also pretty handy in her first campaign. Improvement expected and her two trials leading in have been sound. Proven first up and with the handy draw which gives her an edge on key rivals here may be the difference. Major player.
Also Backing: (3) Akaysha $4.20 (1.5 Units)
(3) Mergeila Win
$5.50 (1 Unit)
