Port Adelaide vs Fremantle Prediction & Betting Tips: AFL 2025 Round 22
Boak Calls Time
It has been a brutal end to an era at Port Adelaide. In what is Ken Hinkley's final season as coach, the Power have endured a horror fortnight, copping an 88-point thrashing from Geelong last week, which came after a 98-point Showdown humiliation against the Crows. The week was capped off by the emotional news that club icon and former captain Travis Boak will retire at season's end. While their finals hopes have long been extinguished, there is a glimmer of light for the Power faithful, with a cavalry of stars set to return. Captain Connor Rozee is back from illness, while the dangerous forward duo of Willie Rioli and Jack Lukosius will provide some much-needed firepower.
Dockers are Maturing
Fremantle, meanwhile, are surging towards September. The Dockers have been one of the form teams of the competition, winning 10 of their past 11 matches to sit comfortably inside the top eight. They showcased their maturity last week, weathering an early storm from Carlton before powering away to a 27-point victory. While it wasn't their most complete performance, their ability to win ugly is a trait that will hold them in good stead come finals. With the ladder still incredibly tight, they know they cannot afford to slip up and will be desperate to keep their winning momentum going.
Recent History
When these two sides met in Perth earlier this season, it was the Dockers who claimed a comprehensive 49-point victory. That win was significant as it snapped a three-game winning streak for the Power in this fixture. Port Adelaide has generally performed well against Fremantle at Adelaide Oval, but the Dockers have been a formidable travelling side in 2025 and will hold no fears heading on the road.
Who Covers the Spread? Here's Our Port Adelaide vs Fremantle Tip
Despite Fremantle's red-hot form, this match could be closer than the ladder positions suggest. The return of Rozee, Rioli, and Lukosius is a massive boost for the Power, and they will be determined to put in a spirited performance on their home deck for the retiring Boak. If the Dockers arrive expecting an easy kill, they could be in for a rude shock. Expect a proud Port Adelaide to be competitive, and the tip is for them to cover the +26.5 point spread.

Our Best Player Prop Bet: Georgiades 3+ Goals
Mitch Georgiades comes into the round equal second in the Coleman Medal race which is a great achievement given his side has struggled this season. He’s kicked 51 goals from 20 matches which is easily a career-high and he’s the clear focal point for the Power’s attack. He’s had 10 games of 3+ goals this season including three last week against the Cats, and he remains really strong value to add another bag to his name on Saturday night.

Caleb Serong 25+ Disposals: He has copped some big tags this season and hasn’t dealt with them well, but I think he will get a bit more freedom in this one and should get back to his accumulating best.
