GWS Giants vs Gold Coast: 2025 AFL Round 15

Giants’ Tall Timber Towering Over the Competition

Inconsistency has been the main theme of the Giants season so far. They currently sit in 8th place on the AFL ladder with an 8-6 record, having won three of their last four games. They captured a fantastic win over the Lions last week on the road, their best of the season to hold onto their spot in the top eight ahead of the Western Bulldogs. Despite being beaten in a lot of key stats, the Giants were able to come out on top due to some wayward Brisbane accuracy and strong games from key forwards Jesse Hogan and Aaron Cadman who booted 11 goals between them.

Clouds Appearing After Back-to-Back Losses for Suns

The Suns won three straight games from Rounds 9-11 but have gone onto lost their last two, both low scoring games against the Dockers and Cats. In a wet clash, they put up just 37 points against the Cats in Round 13, going down by 24 points. They will be coming off their bye last weekend, so will have had the extra week to iron out some flaws in preparation for the home stretch. Noah Anderson has been one of the standout midfielders in the league this season but was well contained by the Cats in their last game, and will need to bounce back if the Suns hope to compete with the talented Giants midfield here.

Greene Light Special: Captain Returns

The Giants will bring in some key players for the Sunday clash, including skipper Toby Greene, who has missed their last game with a glute injury. Also coming back into the side will be Jake Stringer, who has had a hindered season to date, but offers the Giants a real x-factor alongside their already talented forward line. The Suns will bring in Lachie Weller for his first game since Round 8, while Connor Budarick, Jy Farrar, Alex Davies and Ethan Read will also be included to form the extended Sunday bench.

Giants or Suns? Here’s our GWS vs Gold Coast Tip

The Giants start as slight favourites at home and I’m siding with them on the back of some big inclusions and a forward line that is absolutely humming at the moment. They will be without star key defender Sam Taylor, who will miss 4-6 weeks with a toe injury, however, I think they have enough cover in that department with Leek Aleer, Jack Buckley and Harry Himmelberg all able to chip in. I see real issues for the Suns at the other end of the ground in their hopes of quelling the influence of Hogan, Cadman and co. With the Giants midfield back in form and their forward line looking dominant, I think they win at home.

GWS Giants vs Gold Coast Player Prop Bet

Our Best Player Prop: Jesse Hogan 3+ Goals

After a few lean weeks, Hogan was back to his damaging best last week against the Lions, booting six goals in a match winning performance. He kicked four goals in each of his two games against the Suns last season, and I think the Suns are less equipped to deal with him this time around.

GWS Giants vs Gold Coast Same Game Multi

Throughout the 2025 AFL season we’ll be putting together a fun same game multi for every match using Dabble.

Over 162.5 Total Points - Like the overs here, the Giants have been in dominant goal kicking form recently and after a few low scoring games in trying conditions, I think the Suns will be eager to start moving the ball a little quicker. Looks to be perfect weather for football on Sunday in Sydney.

Finn Callaghan 25+ Disposals - Came back into the side in Round 14 after a few weeks off through injury and didn’t miss a beat. Racked up 32 touches in the win over the Lions. Averaging 27.7 touches this year and has had 25+ in 8/11 games.

Noah Anderson 25+ Disposals - Was held to just 19 touches in the loss to the Cats, but averages 29.9 per game this season and has had 25+ in 9/12 games. Had 60 across two games against the Giants last season.
