NRL Rabbitohs vs Bulldogs Tips

NRL Round 15 will come to an end with a clash between two Sydney rivals, as the Rabbitohs and Bulldogs go at it at Accor Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Bulldogs come in as winners of 8 of their past 10 games, whereas the Rabbitohs are sporting a two-game losing streak. Plenty on the line here then on Sunday afternoon, and plenty to bet on too!

Rabbitohs vs Bulldogs Prediction & Tips: 2025 NRL Round 15

Jackrabbit Jye to Deputise for Latrell

The Bunnies will be without star fullback Latrell Mitchell this week, as he turns out for the Blues in game 2 of the State of Origin series. Jye Gray comes straight into the #1 jersey, and whilst it’s not a like for like replacement, Gray has plenty of runs on the board at the back for the Rabbitohs. Last week, the Rabbitohs headed south to take on the Raiders in Canberra, and despite a cracking start to the game in which they led 12-0 after 14 minutes, the Rabbitohs couldn’t maintain the momentum, as the Raiders managed to put the Bunnies to the sword late running in six tries in 35 minutes, winning 36-12. Wayne Bennett will be desperate for his side to get some wins through the Origin period, as they slip further away from a top 8 position.

Galvin Takes the Bulldogs #6 Jersey, For Good?

The Bulldogs will be entering unfamiliar territory, as they will be without four players this week due to Origin with the call up of Kurt Mann for the Maroons, and Matt Burton heading to Perth as the 18th Man for the Blues. Despite this, they come into this clash as the heavy favourites, after dispatching the Eels last week 30-12 in Lachlan Galvin’s much publicised debut for his new club. Whilst the teenager only played 23 minutes, he made his presence felt, scoring the final try for the Bulldogs. His presence was probably felt more off the field, as the media circus surrounding his mid-season switch reached fever pitch. Can the Bulldogs overcome this massive storyline and get on with their business, or is a mutiny on its way to Belmore? We will find out this week, as Galvin starts for Matt Burton at 6, in what could be a glimpse into the future.

Rabbitohs vs Bulldogs Recent History

This rivalry has been one of the better ones over the past couple of seasons, as the Bulldogs and Rabbitohs regularly go toe-to-toe with one another. In their last matchup back in round 7, the Bulldogs closed 10.5-point home favourites, with a total of 44.5. With the Rabbitohs sporting an odd-looking backline which had Latrell Mitchell playing 6, the Bulldogs never looked troubled, winning at a canter 32-0, with a massive 61% of possession and outgaining the Bunnies by almost 1000 metres. Max King was phenomenal, running for over 200 metres, making 34 tackles (0 misses), and scoring a try in the drubbing. Can the Bunnies bounce back here, or is their season circling the drain in 2025?

The Bulldogs were listed as just 6.5-point road favourites on the lookahead, before re-opening 7.5-point favourites. Given the venue hasn’t changed since that week 7 clash where the Bulldogs closed 10.5-point favourites, this number must purely be down to who the Bulldogs will be missing. If both teams were at full strength for this clash, I would have to make the Bulldogs around a 10.5-point favourite, however with the losses of Crichton, King, Burton, and Mann, the Bulldogs are missing quite a lot of talent, as well as their captain. Yes, Lachlan Galvin is a good replacement for Burton, but he surely hasn’t fully bought in to the Bulldogs’ system yet, and it will take him time to come up to speed. The Rabbitohs on the other hand, are only missing Latrell Mitchell, something they have become accustomed to this season. Jye Gray has shown he is more than capable to run things at fullback, and so the Bunnies really shouldn’t look too bad this week.

The nail in the coffin for me for the Bulldogs was how poorly they performed three weeks ago without their Origin players, as they were obliterated 44-8 at home by the Dolphins. Whilst I’m confident the Bulldogs will have enough to get the win; I don’t see it being by margin. I would very much lean towards the Rabbitohs covering here, and a Bulldogs win by 1-12 margin is also a valuable bet in my opinion.

Looking towards the total, and it opened 44.5 and it hasn’t moved all week. I completely disagree with this total and believe it to be too high, with my fair total sitting at 39.5. The Rabbitohs have been a dead under team all season, despite their two most recent games going over the total. The Bulldogs, for their part, are 50/50 when it comes to their totals, but in a game missing a lot of attacking talent, I’ll take the under here.

Rabbitohs vs Bulldogs Player Prop Bet: AJ Looking For 201

Alex Johnston continues his quest for the all-time try scoring record, as he sits just 12 behind legend Ken Irvine on 200 NRL tries. The Bulldogs are leaking 45% of their tries on the right side, and with Cody Walker back pulling the strings on the left for the Rabbitohs, expect a meat pie for AJ this week.

Rabbitohs vs Bulldogs Same Game Multi

Leg 1: Bulldogs (1-12) – As above, I believe the Bulldogs get the job done, but it won’t be easy against a desperate Rabbitohs team.

Leg 2: A Johnston (1+ try) – See Best Prop Bet.

Leg 3: J Preston (1+ try) – Jacob Preston comes back from injury here and will resume his role as the line runner in the redzone. Five tries in eight games to start the season, Preston is far too long in the odds here to ignore.
