Raiders vs Rabbitohs Preview & Betting Tips: NRL Round 14 2025

June 7th 2025, 4:55pm, By: Ben Bridge

Raiders vs Rabbitohs Betting Tips

The Raiders will look to push their top 4 chances forward as they host the Rabbitohs on Sunday afternoon in what looms as a big game for both teams. The Rabbitohs are currently sitting in 10th, outside the 8 based on their poor -58 for and against. A win here will see them potentially inside the 8, but it won’t be easy against the form team of the competition, the Raiders.

Ben brings you his preview and best bets for this clash below and if you’re keen to play along, simply join Neds via this link!

Raiders vs Rabbitohs Titans Prediction & Tips: 2025 NRL Round 14

Raiders Middles to Run Over the Top of the Bunnies

The Raiders came into their round 13 clash with the Roosters last Sunday with two pivotal late outs, as halfback Jamal Fogarty and hooker Tom Starling missing out for the Raiders despite being named. In potentially their finest win of the season, the Raiders came back from 18-8 down with 20 minutes left on the road, to squeeze by the Roosters 26-24. It was another tremendous team performance from the Raiders, with five forwards and all five outside backs running for over 100 metres. With Fogarty and Starling back this week, the Raiders will be hard to beat in Canberra for any side, as they look for their fourth straight win. In a concerning stat for the Bunnies, the Raiders average the most post contact metres per game, whilst the Rabbitohs concede the second most per game. Could be a tough game for the Rabbitohs’ middles.

Can Latrell and KK Push the Rabbitohs into the Top 8?

The Rabbitohs come into this contest off the back of a 36-30 home loss to the Warriors last week. Despite the one score margin, the Warriors were always in control of the game, leading 30-12 nearing the hour mark. On the positive side for the Rabbitohs, middle forward Keaon Koloamatangi continued his stellar form in the middle, playing the full 80 minutes whilst running for 216 metres and making 40 tackles. KK also barged over for an early try. Elsewhere, Latrell Mitchell looked great, setting up two tries whilst scoring one himself. With Cody Walker back this week, the Bunnies’ supporting cast looks a lot stronger this week.

Raiders vs Rabbitohs Recent History

The Raiders have the upper hand in the recent rivalry between these two teams, winning the past three matchups contested between the two. Interestingly, these teams have only met once per year over the past four seasons and haven’t met in the finals since 2019. The last time these teams met was in round 21 last season at GIO Stadium, with the Raiders coming in as 2.5-point favourites, with a closing total of 51.5. In a poor-quality game of football, the Raiders managed to win comfortably in the end, running away with a 32-12 home victory. The Rabbitohs were without Latrell Mitchell, but it was still a poor performance for Souths, allowing Hudson Young to dominate, running for 207 metres, breaking 10 tackles, busting the line once, and setting up a try. Can the Rabbitohs stop Young this week, or will the Raiders run over the top of the Bunnies again?

Raiders to Continue Their Surge Towards a Top 4 Spot

The Raiders opened 7.5-point home favourites for this matchup on the lookahead line, before re-opening at 8.5 on Monday morning. However, once teams were named on Tuesday afternoon, Rabbitohs were backed, with the number moving to 7.5 quickly and staying there throughout the week. I would imagine this is as a result of the return of Cody Walker, with the move from 8.5 to 7.5 a non-trivial move. However, this plays nicely into our bet, as I like the Raiders to get the cover in this matchup with the Rabbitohs. Whilst the Rabbitohs have been tremendous as underdogs, covering 7 of 11 matches, the Raiders have been equally impressive, covering 10 times in 13 games, including 4 of 5 when closing favourites. I make the Raiders 10.5-point favourites, and believe the Raiders are still undervalued by the market, despite their impressive second position on the ladder.

As for the total, it opened 47.5 and hasn’t moved all week. My fair total is 44.5, and despite the Rabbitohs being a heavy unders team this season, I’m concerned that the Raiders’ attack will prove too much, and the total could easily go over in a similar way the Rabbitohs game with the Warriors went last week. I’ll stick with the spread bet for now, whilst I lean towards the under.

Raiders vs Rabbitohs Player Prop Bet: AJ Pushes Towards All-Time Record

Our Best Prop Bet: Alex Johnston 1+ Try

Alex Johnston now sits just 12 tries behind Ken Irvine on the all-time try leader list. This week, Johnston gets his pal Cody Walker back on the left side, with the sweeping move of Walker to Mitchell to Johnston back on the agenda. Taking on a Raiders’ right edge that concedes 50% of all their tries, back AJ for his 201st this week.

Raiders vs Rabbitohs Same Game Multi

Leg 1: Under 47.5 Points – Always like putting unders in these SGM with a couple of try scorers, with the Rabbitohs playing unders in every game this season except for last week, this is a good bet.

Leg 2: A Johnston (1+ Try) – As above, AJ for a try is a great shout this week.

Leg 3: H Young (1+ Try) – No one seems to be able to stop Hudson Young from scoring, and I don’t see the Rabbitohs being any different. Easy leg for your SGMs.
