Sandown Lakeside hosts Wednesday racing this week with gallopers likely to be running on another Dry track. Despite a couple of millimetres falling on Lakeside in the lead up, it might pay to again follow horses who like Dry ground while trainers with “winter” horses wait for Soft or Heavy tracks. Race 1 of the day starts at 12:25pm (AEST) with the three-year old maidens up first.

Sandown Racing Tips: Wednesday, June 4th 2025
Race 4: Tobin Brothers Celebrating Lives Handicap - 2:10pm (AEST)
(9) Tuscaloosa Gem has drawn the inside here and this filly has good form on Dry ground. He raced up there and won at Pakenham last start and from this barrier she should be able to settle in the top 3 again. When left alone she has run some quick times previously and Jordan Childs knows this filly well and has won on her before.
(4) Heinous rises in distance but has drawn wide. She goes well second up and has finished runner up twice when on Dry ground.
(2) Gringzinger Pod has drawn out in 11 but she is a filly who gets back anyway and has the ability to run on strongly. Got too far back at Morphettville last start when 6th in a Group 2. Easier this race.
(9) Tuscaloosa Gem WIN
$3.40 (2 Units)
Race 6: Stow Storage Solutions Handicap - 3:20pm (AEST)
(16) Luvya Mumma will need a good ride from Harry Coffey here from barrier 14 and if he doesn’t get caught wide she will be right in this. We will have to go Each-Way but she will find this race easier than her Flemington race last start. She is very fit now and she has proven that she races well over this distance. Did run a 3rd in a Listed race at Tasmania last prep and that was a quality field.
(10) Shezavixen is fit, has a good barrier in 4 and should go forward and get a nice run in this. She almost got there at Moe last start and she has already won 2 races on Dry ground. Ran well in a Cranbourne jumpout last week (2nd) and that was behind British Columbia who would win this race.
(3) Hoops ran on well for 4th at Morphettville last start and he should get a good run from barrier 2. Before his latest run he flew home at Flemington so he is versatile in the run.
(16) Luvya Mumma Each-Way
$6.00/$2.35 (1 Unit)
Race 8: Sportsbet Get On Extra Handicap - 4:30pm (AEST)
(17) Trembles only has to carry 54.5kg here with Dakota Keane on top and she smashed them at Mornington last start (4L) so she deserves her chance in midweek company. She had the inside barrier at Mornington and Keane has to steer from the wide barrier of 12 here but luckily it's a bigger track and she should get her chance.
(16) Egerton is going for three in a row here and the mare has never missed a placing on a Good track. She has already won 2 races over this distance and she should roll forward again from barrier 5.
(12) Scully will get back in this but does have a strong finish on him over one of his favourite distances. The Good track is a positive and Coffey has placed on him at his only ride on top.
(17) Trembles Each-Way
$4.50/$1.90 (1 Unit)
