The T20 series between New Zealand and Australia continues on Wednesday night from 5.00pm (AEDT). The Kiwis have taken a commanding 2-0 lead in the series and the Aussies will be looking to bounce back in Wellington on Wednesday. As usual, we have you covered with a full preview and betting tips for the clash below.
New Zealand vs Australia 3rd T20 Betting Tips
Wellington, Wednesday 3rd March, 5.00pm (AEDT)
New Zealand Squad: Kane Williamson (c), Martin Guptill, Tim Seifert, Devon Conway, Glenn Phillips, Mark Chapman, Jimmy Neesham, Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi, Kyle Jamieson, Tim Southee, Trent Boult, Hamish Bennett, Finn Allen (standby)
Australia Squad: Aaron Finch (c), Ashton Agar, Jason Behrendorff, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Ben McDermott, Riley Meredith, Josh Philippe, Kane Richardson, Jhye Richardson, Daniel Sams, Tanveer Sangha, D'Arcy Short, Marcus Stoinis, Ashton Turner, Andrew Tye, Matthew Wade, Adam Zampa
It was a closer matchup in the 2nd game but the Kiwis still managed to come away with the chocolates. Martin Guptil was fantastic with the bat, scoring 97 off just 50 balls to lead New Zealand to a score of 219. The Aussies looked in a hole early in their innings but brilliant performances from Marcus Stoinis and Daniel Sams took the game into the very last over.
Due to COVID concerns, the remaining three games of the series will all be played in Wellington, which should make for a different kind of contest to the one that was played in the 2nd game. Well over 400 runs were scored in that game but over the course of history at Wellington, the scores have been quite low in T20 matches.
That fact should favour New Zealand slightly, who possess a better bowling attack than the Aussies and have had their top order in trouble in both games so far. The Kiwis start as slight favourites for the third game as well, and we are leaning slightly in their direction.
12 T20 international games have been played at Wellington in the past and New Zealand have come up trumps in eight of them, while their most recent loss at Welling ton came to India in a super over. Australia has played just once there, all the way back in 2010.Back the Kiwis to hold form and win this one, taking the series with it.
New Zealand Prop Bet
Love the value of Tim Southee to be the leading wicket taker for the Kiwis on Wednesday night. The paceman has a great record in Wellington, having taken 14 wickets through seven T20 international games at a fantastic average of just 12.64.
Southee captured two wickets in the first T20 against Australia before getting one more in the second game. Back him at good odds to be the top NZ wicket taker on Wednesday night.

Kane Richardson was the Aussies best bowler in Game 2 and we like the value of him to top the wicket takers list for the touring side again on Wednesday. On a ground that has favoured seam bowlers in the past, Richardson should be a good option for Australia, especially after taking 3/43 off his four overs in Game 2.
