Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs Prediction & Tips: 2025 AFL Round 22
New Start for the Demons
It’s been a big week in the news for the Dees, as club management decided to part ways with veteran coach Simon Goodwin. The news came as a surprise to many, especially considering the Dees smashed the Eagles to the tune of 83 points in a commanding Round 21 performance. Bailey Fritsch has found some form over the last few weeks, kicking seven goals in over his last two against the Saints and Eagles. The last few games present a great opportunity for the Dees to play spoiler to the Dogs, Hawks and Pies, who are all fighting for seeding in the top eight.
Dogs Still in the Hunt
The Dogs have bounced back from two straight losses to the Crows and Lions to beat the Bombers and Giants in their last two games. They currently sit in 9th place on the ladder, one game outside the top eight, but with a fantastic percentage of 137.3, the 2nd best in the competition, the Dogs have a great chance of forcing their way into the top eight over the next few weeks. Aaron Naughton’s turn of form over the past month has been huge for the Bulldogs, with the key forward booting 24 goals in his last five games.
Both Teams in Decent Health
The Dogs and Demons will go into the game with a pretty settled line-up, both only adding three players to their extended benches for the Sunday clash. The Dogs are in a fantastic position when it comes to their injury list at the moment, missing just two of their potential best 22 with Adam Treloar and Cody Weightman out of the line-up. The Dees are also in a pretty solid position to round out the season, missing only Marty Hore, Jake Lever and Steven May from their best 22.
Dees vs Dogs? Here’s our Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs Tip
With both Steven May and Jake Lever out of the line-up, I’m expecting Aaron Naughton and Sam Darcy to absolutely roll in this game. The Bulldogs are the highest scoring team in the competition, averaging 108.3 points per game and should put up a huge number against the Dees. Back them to cover the 25.5 point line.

Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs Player Prop Bet
Our Best Player Prop: Clayton Oliver 25+ Disposals
Clarry has been back winning ball at a solid rate over the last three weeks. Racking up 26, 23 and 28 over those three games. It’ll be interesting to see what his primary role will be under interim coach Troy Chaplin, but I’m backing him to be pretty rejuvenated under a new regime, and the Dogs shouldn’t put much time into him from a defensive perspective.

Demons vs Bulldogs Same Game Multi
Sam Darcy 3+ Goals - The superstar has kicked 11 goals in the last two games, a bag of six against the Bombers before kicking 5 against the Giants last week. Has kicked at least three goals in 8/14 games this season and should absolutely feast with no May or Lever in the lineup.
Aaron Naughton 3+ Goals - Pretty simple SGM here adding Naughton to Darcy for the same reasons. Naughton has been in even better form than Darcy lately. booting seven against the Bombers and five against the Giants. Has kicked 3+ in five of his last six.
